If, like many of us, you have a nice Windows 7 workstation, you soon realize that space, especially on the C: partition is *really* disappearing fast!
Among many root causes that could be guilty of this behavior is the famous winsxs folder.
Should you want to recuperate some of this valuable disk space, especially on laptops or ultra-books with SSDs, you could and should consider the following steps:
Start a Command Prompt as Administrator
Start, search for “cmd”, right click on the result and select “Run as administrator”"
Run the following command at the prompt

For 32-bit version:
- Make sure that you are under C:\windows\system32
For64 bit version:
- Make sure that you are under C:\windows\system
