Hinge wont ban users for a single piece of problematic content anymore
Today, Hinge is updating its approach to handling content that violates its Terms of Service for all U.S. users. The dating app will now remove a specific piece of problematic content from a user's account and share clear feedback on what was flagged and why — as opposed to banning the account entirely.
Previously, if one piece of content (like a photo or response to a prompt) on a profile was flagged and didn't meet Hinge's Terms of Service, that account would be booted, and the person behind it would need to appeal the ban.
SEE ALSO: As Tinder struggles to attract paid users, one dating app is gaining popularityNow, that single piece of content will be removed. The account will remain on the app, but it won't appear in other people's Discover or Standout feeds (where you can "like" and match). Users will also be given a specific reason why and a chance to update their profile so that they can be seen by others again.
Hinge's new content removal process Credit: HingeReasons why content could get removed include discriminatory language, scams, and sexually explicit material, according to Hinge's help center.
This change comes after reports of Hinge (and other dating apps) banning accounts, and those users having a difficult time appealing the decision. Singles who have been banned from apps told Mashable earlier this year that not being able to use them has hurt their dating lives.
Now, Hinge aims to provide greater clarity and transparency regarding its rules and decision-making processes. It also hopes to decrease the frustration of "well-intentioned" daters who will be given a chance to adjust their profiles. Hinge clarified to Mashable that one instance of "extremely harmful" content — like graphic or extreme violence — could constitute a ban.
"We believe in supporting our community throughout their dating journey," said Hinge's chief risk officer, Jeff Dunn, in a statement to Mashable. "By giving daters the opportunity to update their content while remaining in good standing on Hinge, we're delivering on our commitment to greater transparency and helping well-intentioned users better understand our policies — so they can stay focused on what matters most — making meaningful connections."
UPDATE: Sep. 30, 2025, 2:39 p.m. EDT This article has been updated with further clarity from Hinge.

Stephen Colbert reacts to Trump posting an AI conspiracy video
You know we're living in a strange timeline when the president of the U.S. is casually sharing AI videos of himself on social media, but — as Stephen Colbert pointed out on The Late Show — this story gets messier the closer you look at it.
"The president of the United States posted an AI video of a Fox News report that never happened featuring a fake version of himself, saying things he never said about a magic, foot-growing-back body-pod that does not exist, all reported by an AI anchor of his real daughter-in-law," says Colbert, giving a depressingly accurate summary of the strange AI conspiracy Donald Trump posted about non-existent, secret, cure-all "medbeds".
"After watching that I hope they have medbeds so I can regrow my brain back."
It's difficult to analyse why Trump posted the video and what was going through his mind when he watched it, but Colbert also gives that a go.
"It really seems like Trump saw the AI video of himself and thought it was real. Which means he also thinks in 2020 he did this," the host says, before playing an AI clip of Trump dancing next to a bongo-playing Joe Biden.
NYT Pips hints, answers for September 30, 2025
Happy Tuesday and welcome to your guide to Pips, the latest game in the New York Times catalogue.
Today's games feature difficulty levels that dial up the challenge quickly, but we have all the tips you need to navigate them.
Released in August 2025, the Pips puts a unique spin on dominoes, creating a fun single-player experience that could become your next daily gaming habit.
Currently, if you're stuck, the game only offers to reveal the entire puzzle, forcing you to move onto the next difficulty level and start over. However, we have you covered! Below are piecemeal answers that will serve as hints so that you can find your way through each difficulty level.
How to play PipsIf you've ever played dominoes, you'll have a passing familiarity for how Pips is played. As we've shared in our previous hints stories for Pips, the tiles, like dominoes, are placed vertically or horizontally and connect with each other. The main difference between a traditional game of dominoes and Pips is the color-coded conditions you have to address. The touching tiles don't necessarily have to match.
SEE ALSO: Wordle today: Answer, hints for September 20, 2025The conditions you have to meet are specific to the color-coded spaces. For example, if it provides a single number, every side of a tile in that space must add up to the number provided. It is possible – and common – for only half a tile to be within a color-coded space.
Here are common examples you'll run into across the difficulty levels:
Number: All the pips in this space must add up to the number.
Equal: Every domino half in this space must be the same number of pips.
Not Equal: Every domino half in this space must have a completely different number of pips.
Less than: Every domino half in this space must add up to less than the number.
Greater than: Every domino half in this space must add up to more than the number.
If an area does not have any color coding, it means there are no conditions on the portions of dominoes within those spaces.

Jimmy Kimmel has a brutal response to JD Vance saying hes not funny
Jimmy Kimmel may be back on TV, but the conversation about his suspension — which reportedly lost Disney 1.7 million subscribers before they put him back on air — continues.

"I have some good news for you J-Dog, we're back on all the stations," responds Kimmel, referencing the news that TV station owners Nexstar and Sinclair are once again airing Kimmel's show. He goes on to play another clip of Vance arguing that advertisers don't like Kimmel "because his ratings aren't very good."
"My ratings aren't very good?" responds Kimmel. "Last time I checked, your ratings were somewhere between a hair in your salad and chlamydia."

Leave notes, scribble down thoughts, or create your own illustrations; it's completely your own. The Premium Pen has been upgraded, too, and feels even more lifelike. Your brain will be convinced you're writing on paper.
And it’s more than just a notetaker. Like any Kindle, the Scribe is built for reading comfort with a 10.2-inch, 300 ppi display that’s both glare-free and front-lit, so it works when reading in the sun or other bad lighting. The battery life is worth noticing, too. For reading, a single charge lasts up to 12 weeks (assuming half an hour of reading a day). For writing, a single charge lasts up to 3 weeks (based on a half-hour period of writing per day). Amazon states that both these scenarios are with wireless off and the light setting at 13.

Disney reportedly lost 1.7 million subscribers during Kimmels suspension
Calls to boycott Disney overtook social media this month after subsidiary ABC suspended Jimmy Kimmel on Sept. 17. Now we may have some idea of how much damage Disney actually took.
SEE ALSO: 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' will be back on Sinclair and Nexstar ABC stations starting FridayOver 1.7 million Disney streaming subscriptions were reportedly cancelled in seven days between the announcement of Kimmel's suspension and his return, according to sources speaking to independent journalist Marisa Kabas for her website The Handbasket. This includes accounts across Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN.
If accurate, this means Disney lost over 242,800 subscribers per day during that time period. Kabas reports that this amounts to a whopping 436 percent increase in cancellations compared to Disney's baseline weekly subscriber churn.
Disney's stock dropped by about three percent during the seven days Kimmel was suspended, wiping approximately $6.4 billion from its valuation. While Disney seems likely to recover, this dip still represents a clear message to the company.
SCOOP / UPDATE — Disney saw more than 1.7 million total paid streaming cancelations during the period 9/17-9/23, a Disney source confirms to me. The total includes Disney+, Hulu and ESPN.

Kimmel returned to air last Tuesday, joking that Disney had asked him to read out instructions on how viewers could reactivate their Disney+ and Hulu accounts. Even so, his reinstatement does not appear to have entirely placated Disney's critics, with free speech concerns continuing to linger. ABC pulled Kimmel off air after Federal Communications Commission (FCC) chairman Brendan Carr threatened the network's broadcasting license and called for it to "take action" on the late night host.
Public disapproval of Disney was further bolstered last week when the company revealed it is increasing Disney+ subscription prices. Announced shortly after confirming Kimmel's return, Disney's pricing changes are set to go into effect from Oct. 21. Kabas reports that Disney rushed to resolve Kimmel's suspension because it had already planned the price hike, knowing it would be further unwelcome news to subscribers.
