Cyber Weekend is one of the rare times of year when the Apple Store hosts a sale — sort of. Instead of offering cash discounts on its devices, the tech retailer simply doles out free gift cards with eligible purchases.

Apple's 2025 Black Friday and Cyber Monday Shopping Event runs through Monday, Dec. 1, and it's a little bit more tempting than usual. Shoppers can earn up to $250 worth of free gift cards when they buy one of its gadgets direct, up from $200 in 2024 and 2023. Free money is always nice, of course, but third-party retailers' Black Friday price cuts on AirPods, MacBooks, iPads, and Apple Watches are far more competitive. Plus, many newer devices are excluded from the Apple Store's promotion.

Right now, there are only six Apple devices and accessories that I would recommend buying on sale from Apple itself (scroll down to find those).

The Apple Store's 2025 Cyber Monday deals

Apple's free gift card offers for Cyber Monday range from $25 to $250, depending on the product. They can only be redeemed on future purchases from the Apple Store in person or online:

Other retailers' Apple deals are way better, for the most part

Most of the Apple Store's offers pale in comparison to other retailers' cash discounts on its devices (with six notable exceptions — more on them shortly). For instance, Target has the AirPods 4 marked down to $69.99 during its Cyber Monday sale, which is a $59 savings on their list price. If you buy them directly from Apple instead, you're only getting $25 back.

Here's another example: Amazon is selling the M4 MacBook Airs for at least $250 off — the 13-inch model is $738.04 (normally $999), while the 15-incher is $949 (normally $1,199). It's silly to buy either size directly from the Apple Store if you're only saving $175 or $200 apiece, respectively.

Even the high-end MacBook Pros that come with Apple's highest free gift card offer have steeper discounts elsewhere. The M4 Pro and M4 Max models are anywhere from $250 to $500 off across Amazon and Best Buy.

It's also crucial to know that Apple Store's Cyber Week savings event doesn't include some of the newest products, including the M5 MacBook Pro, M5 iPad Pro, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and Beats PowerBeats Pro 2 earbuds. The AirTag, HomePod mini, Mac Studio, and Studio Display are also omitted. Third-party retailers are the only places to get any sort of deals on all of them; we've rounded those up here.

6 Cyber Monday Apple Store deals worth buying

I've cross-checked all of the products featured in Apple's Cyber Monday sale and found six instances where its gift card offer was better than a retailer's cash discount. The rest are all matched or beaten.

The AirPods Pro 3 are currently $219.99 (or $30 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target. They come with a free $50 gift card at the Apple Store.

The $149 Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen, WiFi + Ethernet) was on sale for $99.99 at Costco, but it's now sold out there. (The deal was limited to Costco members, anyway.) The WiFi-only model is listed for $119.99 at B&H Photo, which is just $9.01 off. Meanwhile, the Apple Store will give you a free $25 gift card for buying either one direct.

The HomePod (2nd Gen) is marked down to $269.99 at Best Buy, which is a $29.01 discount. Meanwhile, it nets you a free $50 gift card at the Apple Store.

The Beats Studio Buds + are $149.95 at Amazon and $149.99 at Best Buy (a $20-ish savings). At Kohl's, they earn you $45 in free Kohl's Cash. But at the Apple Store, they come with a free $50 gift card.

Finally, Amazon has the 13-inch M3 iPad Air's Magic Keyboard on sale for $299.99 in the 13-inch size, saving shoppers just $19.01. The Apple Store throws in a $25 gift card if you buy it there instead.

Moon phase today: What the moon will look like on December 1

It's the first moon in December, and we're just a few days away from the Full Moon. This is set to be another supermoon, so we can expect a very big and bright display soon. Until then, there's still plenty to spot on the moon's surface now.

What is today’s moon phase?

As of Monday, Dec. 1, the moon phase is Waxing Gibbous. This means 83% of the moon is lit up tonight, according to NASA's Daily Moon Observation.

It's day 11 of the lunar cycle, and there is lots to see. If you're looking at the moon without any visual aids you should be able to see the Mares Crisium and Fecunditatis. You'll also be able to spot the Copernicus Crater. With binoculars, the Endymion, Alphonsus and Posidonius Craters come into view. And finally, with a telescope, you can catch a glimpse of the Schiller Crater, Apollo 12 landing spot, and the Rima Ariadaeus.

When is the next full moon?

The next full moon will be on Dec. 4, which will be the last of three consecutive supermoons. The last full moon was on Nov. 5.

What are moon phases?

NASA explains that the lunar cycle (which is about 29.5 days long) is made up of the Moon’s phases, which describe how the Moon looks from Earth as it travels around us. We view the same side of the Moon at all times, but the sunlight hitting its surface shifts as it moves through its orbit. That changing illumination is what makes the Moon appear full, half-lit, or not visible at all. The cycle includes eight distinct phases:

New Moon - The moon is between Earth and the sun, so the side we see is dark (in other words, it's invisible to the eye).

Waxing Crescent - A small sliver of light appears on the right side (Northern Hemisphere).

First Quarter - Half of the moon is lit on the right side. It looks like a half-moon.

Waxing Gibbous - More than half is lit up, but it’s not quite full yet.

Full Moon - The whole face of the moon is illuminated and fully visible.

Waning Gibbous - The moon starts losing light on the right side. (Northern Hemisphere)

Third Quarter (or Last Quarter) - Another half-moon, but now the left side is lit.

Waning Crescent - A thin sliver of light remains on the left side before going dark again.

I test robot vacuums for a living and have been keeping tabs on robot vacuum deals trends for over half a decade — and I'd say Cyber Monday's count of robot vacuums on sale beats spring cleaning sales and even both Prime Days. It makes sense: Many brands release their new vacuums for the year at CES in January (or at least near the CES time frame), so when Cyber Monday rolls around, it's often an eleventh-hour push to sell the "old" but still great robot vacuums from the past year.

Cyber Monday deals on robot vacuums are out in full force now that Black Friday has ended, and between Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, and Target, there are a lot to choose from. Take a few minutes to read up on what to look for in a robot vacuum, and assess the features that are non-negotiables in your home, then make your move. The Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller is the most powerful robot vacuum on the mainstream market, and Black Friday was the first time it's ever hit less than $1,000. Spending that much on a vacuum probably sounds like brain rot to budget shoppers, but think of it this way: The Dreame's 30,000 Pa of suction power is more than 10,000 Pa stronger than the most powerful robot vacuums we saw on sale last Black Friday, and they were still hovering around the $1,000 mark. With the addition of a robust self-rinsing roller mop, this is a real bang for your buck.

I've been testing the Aqua10 Ultra Roller at home for over a month and can personally confirm its efficacy. Its pet hair pickup on rugs has impressed me the most: It has had about a 99 percent pickup rate for large clumps of cat hair that I put in its path and smoosh down into various pile heights. On patterned rugs that camouflage the layer of fur to the naked eye, I've ChomChom-ed the area after the Aqua10 Ultra Roller has done a few passes — and there's barely anything left over to get rolled into the ChomChom compartment. The best Cyber Monday earbuds deals: New price drops on AirPods, Sony, and Bose earbuds

Though we've been seeing great deals all month, Cyber Monday is here — the final day of the holiday shopping season’s biggest sale. This is the last call for the record-low prices we’ve been tracking since Black Friday.

Already, we've seen popular Black Friday deals start to drop away. The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen)? Back up to $249 at Amazon and at Best Buy (though the latter held the $216 sale price a bit longer). The classic $35 Amazon Echo Buds with ANC deal? Sold out at the time of writing.

That said, Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, and Target are still hosting sales for Cyber Monday that feature great deals on earbuds. Walmart still has the Apple AirPods 4 down at $79.99 — it's not quite the $69 record low, but it beats the $118 price tag at Amazon. The Panasonic Technics EAH-AZ100 has miraculously dipped below its record low and is now at $219.99.

The Anker Soundcore Sleep A20 earbuds aren't your only viable option for sleep earbuds, but at this sale price of $107.99, they may be the best value. While the newer A30 buds (also on sale) offer ANC and some white noise features, we don't think they necessarily justify a $72 price difference, making the A30 buds firmly an upgrade option, and the A20 buds the best option for most people. Even with just the passive noise cancellation, they were able to block standard nighttime sounds like noisy neighbors, street noise, and AC units. Target's Cyber Monday sale is here, ready to close out the month-long bash that was Black Friday deals.

The retailer has been running deals since early November, but today (Monday, Dec. 1) is the last full day to see the biggest price drops across the site, with many items chilling at their deepest discount yet.

We've been tracking Target Black Friday 2025 all month, and the key shopping tip remains the same: If you see a high-ticket item at a good price, don't wait to buy it. We've already witnessed several early steals bump back to full price, and many high-demand items are selling out now that we're in the final stretch. This is a testament to how sought-after so many of these Target deals are.

You'll find savings near 50% off (sometimes more!) on all your favorite brands, including Bose, Samsung, Garmin, Keurig, Apple, and TCL. The retailer has dropped its final wave of Cyber Monday deals today, so if you see something you like, grab it now. Especially since Target launched a holiday price match policy. If anything you buy at Target between Nov. 1 and Dec. 24 goes on sale for a lower price, the retailer will price-match itself.

Last call on Kindles! Now that it's Cyber Monday, there's one last day to shop all the best deals before the holidays. Amazon kicked off its Cyber Monday sale over the weekend, and luckily, its entire lineup is still at the lowest prices ever.

The thing with Kindles is that they rarely go on sale. Sure, there's the occasional random discount throughout the year, but the best guaranteed price is almost always going to be during Prime Day, Black Friday, and Cyber Week. And take it from me, I know Kindle prices. It's part of my job to test the best Kindles and e-readers, but outside of work hours, you'll still find me and my Kindle attached at the hip.

After combing through the latest Cyber Monday deals, I'm happy to report that the Kindle Colorsoft is now down to $169.99, while the basic Kindle is still at its record-low price of $79.99. I didn't know what to expect from Amazon's Black Friday Kindle Deals, but I was blown away this year. Every device dropped to its lowest price ever, and there are some major standouts. The Kindle e-reader with the best discount is the Kindle Colorsoft. It's down to $169.99, saving an astounding $80 off its $249.99 price tag. While I wouldn't recommend buying the device at full price, I think it's an exceptional deal to snag on Cyber Monday.

The Colorsoft has all the perks of a Paperwhite; it's waterproof, has adjustable warmth and brightness, and has an extremely long battery life of eight weeks. But the bonus? It has full color displays so you can enjoy graphic novels and book covers in full detail.

However, if you're not into the Colorsoft, there are plenty of other stellar deals to shop, including the basic Kindle down to its lowest price ever.
