Stephen King hits out at Elon Musk's 'pro-Trump disinformation' on X
As the election draws nearer, more and more celebrities seem to be having a pop at Donald Trump supporter Elon Musk. First Cardi B, and now Stephen King.
The horror writer — who has already sparred with Musk on multiple occasions — took to the Musk-owned X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday night, accusing the tech billionaire of spreading misinformation ahead of the election.
SEE ALSO: Cardi B bluntly shuts down Elon Musk on X after he calls her a 'puppet'"The Musk-man has posted 3,000 times on Twitter in the last month," wrote King on X. "Most are pro-Trump disinformation and outright lies. Remember, he has skin in the game. Consider his posts accordingly."
Tweet may have been deletedOf course, King's right about Musk having "skin in the game". Musk publicly endorsed Trump on X in July, has donated millions to a Trump Super PAC to help with his re-election, has appeared himself at Trump rallies, and offered million-dollar swing state payouts to Trump voters.
On X, he also regularly posts complete nonsense to his 200+ million followers. Musk has shared (and deleted) far right fake news, spread a false rumor that a bomb had been found at a Trump rally, and his posts frequently receive Community Notes debunking their accuracy. Musk allowed conspiracy theories to run rampant on the platform after Trump was shot at during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and to top it all off, added pro-Trump icons for Trump hashtags on X.
Musk's attempt at a retort to King's assertion? Laughing about the author counting up all his posts while saying nothing to dispute his claims.
New Vision Pro with M5 chip might come next year
Apple's Vision Pro isn't doing too well, but the company hasn't given up on it yet.
A new report from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the company is working on a new version of the mixed reality headset, this one with the yet-unreleased M5 chip inside.
Tweet may have been deletedKuo also claims that Apple has delayed production of the rumored, cheaper Vision Pro, to "beyond 2027".
"This means Apple's only new head-mounted display device in 2025 will be the Vision Pro with an upgraded M5 processor," wrote Kuo.
Apple's current (and only) Vision Pro headset costs $3,499 and, by all accounts, isn't selling too well. So why delay a cheaper variant?
According to Kuo, Apple's problem is not so much in its high price, but in the lack of "successful use cases" for the headset.
"Apple's prices are high across the board vs. competitors, even HomePod mini. That's another issue—what Apple considers 'affordable' for Vision Pro might still be pricey vs. competitors. So it all comes down to whether they can provide successful use cases," wrote Kuo.
SEE ALSO: Apple Vision Pro: You may never meet The Weeknd, but this new experience brings you closeFor the end users, this basically means that there won't be a new Vision Pro for a while — the original Vision Pro was launched in June 2023, during Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference, so it makes sense for the company to do the same with the headset's successor. When it does show up, it will likely have a similar price tag as the current one, placing it outside the budget of many potential buyers.
Kuo didn't share any further details about the upcoming Vision Pro. In his Power On newsletter, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman also said that Apple is working on a Vision Pro with an upgraded chip, but shared no other details about it. The company is also "seriously considering" a smart glasses-like wearable device powered by the iPhone, said Gurman.

Cardi B bluntly shuts down Elon Musk on X after he calls her a 'puppet'
With the U.S. presidential election drawing closer, tensions are rising higher and higher online — and celebrities are no exception.
Over the weekend Donald Trump supporter and rally guest Elon Musk hit his own platform X (formerly Twitter) to criticise Cardi B's appearance at a Kamala Harris rally in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Friday
SEE ALSO: John Oliver shares his final thoughts ahead of election dayDuring her speech, the rapper said she wasn't going to vote in the election until Harris joined the race.
"Just like Kamala Harris, I, too, have been the underdog, I've been underestimated. My success belittled and discredited," Cardi B said. "Women have to work ten times harder, perform ten times better, and still people question us, how we got to the top. I can't stand a bully, but just like Kamala, I always stand up to one."
Cardi B took aim at Trump's stance on abortion and reproductive rights and history of misogyny, specifically pointing to Trump's maligned comments about protecting women "whether [they] like it or not".
"Did you hear what Donny Trump said the other day?" asked the rapper. "He says he’s going to protect women whether they 'like it or not.'"
“Protection for women, especially if we're talking about maternal and mental health care, isn't telling them what to do with their bodies. It's supporting them and giving them the care that they need for what they choose to do with their bodies. People like Donald Trump don't believe women deserve rights. And when those rights are taken away, they are nowhere to be found."
"If his definition of protection is not the freedom of choice, if his definition of protection is making sure our daughters have fewer rights than our mothers, then I don't want it," she added.
At the beginning of her speech, Cardi B's teleprompter failed, and she continued her speech reading from a phone — and it's this part of the speech that Musk shared on his own platform.
"Another puppet who can’t even talk without being fed the words," wrote the tech billionaire on X. "The Kamala campaign has no authenticity or true empathy."
Tweet may have been deletedSince endorsing Trump on X in July, Musk has gone all in on publicly supporting the Republican candidate, whether beefing up his own platform, appearing himself at rallies, or offering million-dollar swing state payouts.
So yes, Cardi B saw Musk's post — and didn't hesitate to hit back.
Tweet may have been deleted"I'm not a puppet Elon," wrote Cardi. "I’m a daughter of two immigrant parents that had to work their ass off to provide for me! I’m a product of welfare, I’m a product of section 8, I’m a product of poverty and I’m a product of what happens when the system is set up against you….But you don’t know nothing about that. You don’t know not one thing about the American struggle….
