I pretty much spend every day I'm at work testing out headphones and earbuds, which means I've become well-versed in which headphones are actually worth your money.

This year has been an especially noteworthy year for headphones, with flagship releases from Sony, Bose, and Bowers & Wilkins. Flagship headphones are often the ones that get recommended on best of lists — ours included — but considering the new norm for a starting price is $449, they're not exactly the most affordable choice out there. Enter: Black Friday, when tech deals abound.

I've spotted some especially noteworthy headphones and earbuds price drops for Black Friday — all of which Mashable has recommended in some capacity. In this case, a noteworthy deal is not simply something on sale. In fact, I've only selected deals that are actually great Black Friday deals (and not easy to grab on sale at other times of the year).

For instance, I didn't add the second-generation Bose QC Ultra earbuds to this list when they were on sale for $249 — they hit that price in September, and have returned to it since (before Black Friday deals kicked off). However, for Black Friday, they've dipped down to $216, making them a deal worth mentioning as truly one of the best.

Now that Black Friday is officially here, plenty of headphones are down to record-low prices. I've been scouring the savings to come up with this selection of the 15 best headphones and earbuds deals live for Black Friday.

One of the most comfortable pairs of noise-cancelling headphones Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones $299 at Amazon

The first time I put the Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones on, I knew they were the most comfortable headphones I'd ever worn (Mashable's Samantha Mangino had a similar experience). That belief became even firmer over years of use (and testing them against new competitors). Although the new second-generation headphones feel ever so slightly more comfortable, the originals still hold up.

On sale for $299, they're a much better value than the $449 second-gen Ultras. Their main quirks include no passive playback and the occasional difficulty pairing to more than one device. However, when I compared them directly against their newer counterpart, I found the ANC and sound to be very similar. This is a great deal, and people are taking notice — these headphones have already sold out at Amazon in a couple of colorways.

As I mentioned in the intro, despite being a relatively new release, the Bose QuietComfort Ultra earbuds (2nd gen) have gone on sale a couple of times, dropping down to $249 in select colorways. For Black Friday, the black colorway has dropped to a record-low price of $216.

I get that, sale or not, over $200 is a hefty investment for a pair of earbuds. To that, I would say if you're someone looking for something you can wear all day, and prioritize top-of-the-line noise cancellation above all else, these earbuds will be worth it for you. The fit keeps them secure without causing soreness, and helps seal you into a place of quiet that, along with the ANC, rivals many over-ear headphones I've tested.

While the QC Ultras are one of the most comfortable pairs of headphones out there, the second-generation QuietComfort Ultra headphones take the top spot. They also come with some nice quality of life upgrades, including a 30-hour battery life, passive playback support, lossless audio support with the USB-C cable, and an upgrade to their design with new colorways and a shiny metal accent. They're maybe not upgrade-worthy if you already own the first-gen headphones, but if it's your first foray into the QC Ultra line, grabbing these headphones for their price drop drop ever (and a pretty solid one at that) is a smart buy.

The thing about Sony flagship headphones is that they're going to sound incredible. With the release of the XM6s, the WH-1000XM5 headphones are the former flagship headphones, but their sound profile remains one of the best in the game. I particularly like the "find your equalizer" feature that guides the less audiophile inclined among us through the process of finding their perfect custom EQ sound, which really helps these headphones shine. More generally speaking, when I tested the XM6s and XM5s head-to-head, I didn't find any huge discrepancies in performance. Plus, the XM6s got a $50 price bump to their list price, meaning that even if they were to get a $50 price drop over Black Friday (a markdown we've only spotted once before), they'll still be $150 more than the XM5s at this price point.

While these are still $150 more than the XM5s, it is worth mentioning that the Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones are down to their lowest price ever at $398. It's certainly possible that their price will drop even further next week, but I've also seen Sony stick to their initial discounts in past shopping holidays. If you want the best sound Sony (and most brands, tbh) has to offer, industry-leading ANC, and ear cups that fold in (a convenient feature for travelers), then the XM6s are an excellent choice. In his review, Mashable Tech Editor Timothy Beck Werth wrote, "if you want best-in-class noise-cancelling headphones and pristine audio quality, the headphones deliver."

Mid-range headphones for under $100 Sony WH-CH720N $88 at Amazon

Noise-cancelling headphones with great sound quality from a reputable brand don't need to cost several hundred dollars, and the Sony WH-CH720N are proof of exactly that. Mashable named them Sony's best headphones under $100, with Mashable contributor Alex Bracetti singing their praises after two years of use. He deemed their sound quality "near flagship" level, and was impressed by the 35 hours of battery life with ANC on, which beats out the current flagship models of both Bose and Sony.

Though you can often find them on sale for $98 (a feat on its own, considering their $179.99 list price), it's slightly less common to find them on sale for $88, making this a great deal on Black Friday. As an added bonus, the pink colorway is more unique than you might find from other budget headphones options under $100.

Open earbuds are great if you prefer staying somewhat aware of the world around you, but in my experience, that can come in the form of less-than-stellar sound quality. In the case of the Bose Ultra Open earbuds, you get the best of both worlds. I suspect that's a large part of the reason behind their $299 price tag (which admittedly feels more appropriate for noise-cancelling earbuds). That's why I recommend them as an upgrade pick for open earbuds, and why I'm an especially big fan of this $100 off deal. In addition to their surprisingly rich sound, I especially like their small charging case, smartly placed on-ear controls, comfortable clip-on design, and many options for colorways.

Rounding out my picks is maybe the most underrated Bose product — the QuietComfort earbuds. Though their design isn't the most elegant, that's pretty much where their underwhelming features end. For starters, these earbuds have incredible battery life — in my weeks of testing them, I rarely had to charge them, and easily squeezed in a five-hour day of use, with ANC on and battery life to spare.

Sound and noise-cancellation-wise, they don't wow quite as much as the QC Ultra earbuds, but they're also significantly cheaper, even at full price. For their $129 sale price, they're less than half the price of the premium earbuds, and I promise, their performance doesn't reflect that. If I had to put a number to it, I'd say there's more of a $50 to $75 performance discrepancy between the two earbuds, which is why we've named these the best mid-budget earbuds currently on the market. Though we've seen them drop to $129 before, it is their lowest price ever, still making this a great grab on Black Friday.

I don't know if it's possible a more affordable headphones deal will pop up this Black Friday. The JLab JBuds Lux ANC headphones, already a solid value at full price, are an even better value at their usual sale price of about $40, and a downright steal at this new Black Friday price (and new record low) of $27. This beats Amazon's deal by over $12 and last year's Black Friday pricing by $2. When I tested these headphones, I was surprised by their battery life, along with how solid their sound and ANC performed, as well as the extensive customizability on their app. Mashable's Haley Henschel owns these headphones, and appreciates their comfort. They're our favorite budget headphones and one of our top picks for students for a reason.

The best earbuds for working out Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 $199.95 at Amazon

When I first tried out the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2, I wasn't sure I'd like them all that much, as I had trouble finding how to properly put them on with the ear hook (my colleague Sam Mangino had a similar experience). However, there's a reason they say first impressions aren't everything — after we both found the right ear tip size and got through this small learning curve, we fell in love with these earbuds. So did Mashable contributor Alex Bracetti, who gave them a Mashable Choice Award in his review.

This consensus made these an easy pick for the best earbuds for working out: though their ANC isn't the best, it's present, the ear hook keeps the buds in place without being uncomfortable, the sound is rich, the on-ear controls reliable and perfect for using mid-workout, and the built-in heart rate monitor is a convenient feature, especially if you don't already own a fitness tracker. Though they've hit this sale price before, they don't go on sale often, so I recommend grabbing them while you can.

A (better) AirPods Max alternative

Mashable loved the Beats Studio Pro when they first dropped in 2023, and after testing them again in 2025 against the rest of the Beats lineup, we found that they held up. Mashable contributor Alex Bracetti compared them to another Apple over-ear headphones, the AirPods Max, saying the Beats Studio Pro have a lot of overlap in features with AirPods, making the Beats a much better bang for your buck. The Studio Pro have better battery life (24 hours compared to the AirPods' 20), and according to Bracetti, better sound quality and similar ANC. The AirPods Max are currently on sale for $399.99, meaning you could buy two pairs of these Beats and still have money left over.

This deal in particular applies to the Beats Studio Pro x Kim Kardashian model, which at the time of writing are $20 cheaper than the regular Studio Pros' sale price (which just feature different colorway options).

Many popular flagship headphones have roughly 30 hours of battery life, which makes the whopping 60 hours of battery life found on the Sennheiser Momentum 4 all the more impressive. (And yes, that's with ANC on). This feature certainly made them a standout to us, and earned them the spot of Mashable's favorite headphones with long battery life, but that wasn't the only place they wowed.

When I tested these headphones out, trying to wear down that mammoth battery life felt like marginally less of a chore because of their excellent sound quality. The ANC stood out less than competitors, and the touch controls were on the sensitive side, but the companion app added enough customizability that it was never a real problem. I also appreciate that even with both pairs on sale, these headphones are cheaper than the Dyson OnTrac headphones, their only real competition for battery life. (And in my opinion, the Sennheisers have a much more elegant design). At $199.95, these headphones are just a couple of dollars away from their lowest price ever, and in a price range I've typically only seen around the holiday season.

Indicators that Black Friday is absolutely in full swing? The price drop on the Apple AirPods 4. It was already great to see them drop down to $79 — their former lowest price ever — earlier this month, but Amazon outdid itself before Black Friday even started. These earbuds have dropped to an impressive $69, bringing them down to yet another record low. I'd be surprised if their price drops much further, so if you're an Apple user who doesn't need earbuds with ANC, it'll be hard to beat this deal.

The Raycon Everyday Earbuds may have made a name for themselves through many a YouTube sponsorship, but after testing them out for myself, I can personally verify that these are really solid budget earbuds. These are the perfect option for anyone who wants the basics done well, without the hassle of any setup. They come sans companion app (and a button for Bluetooth), but they pair easily as soon as they're powered on, and can be controlled entirely by the tactile on-ear controls.

Both their sound quality and ANC are solid; they come with eight hours of charge with ANC on (the same as the AirPods Pro 3), and six gel tips for finding the perfect fit. If you're looking for budget headphones with a few more extras, the EarFun Air Pro 4 are also on sale — although they're a great value, they do drop down to this price point year-round, making them a less impressive Black Friday deal.

Maybe the biggest flaw of the Panasonic Technics EAH-AZ100 earbuds is that they rarely go on sale. With this Black Friday deal, these earbuds aren't just getting a rare price cut, but they're down to their absolute lowest price ever. In his review of the earbuds, Mashable Tech Editor Timothy Beck Werth pointed to their audio quality as their standout feature, writing, "While Bose retains an edge on overall comfort, I'm not aware of any wireless earbuds in the world that offer better, fuller, more accurate sound."

In addition to the excellent sound quality, these earbuds come equipped with top-notch adaptive ANC, three-way multipoint pairing that works without a hitch, LDAC support, and a premium design with metal accents on the earbuds and case.

There are two ways to measure the performance of PC components: synthetic benchmarks like 3DMark or PCMark, and real-world benchmarks that test performance in games and various software using real-life scenarios. The latter's much better, here's why.

A network attached storage device (NAS) is one of the most useful things you can add to your home network, but a specialized NAS can run you hundreds of dollars just for the shell, and that is before you even buy additional hard drives for storage. If you want a large, robust NAS, you'll be on the hook for even more.

Access to Google's popular next gen image generator, Nano Banana, is temporarily scaling down, as the company tries to keep up with widespread demand for its AI-enhanced photos.

In a Google support document first spotted by 9to5Google, the company has dropped the number of free image prompts down to two from its previous three-prompt limit, with a note that caps "may change frequently."

The same document outlines new usage limits for free users on Gemini 3 Pro, as well, with the company now bumping non-subscribers to "basic access." Google reserves the right to cap daily prompt limits at any time for basic access users, depending on traffic volume. Usage terms for Google AI Pro or AI Ultra plan subscribers remains the same.

Google's generative AI competitor, OpenAI, simultaneously restricted the number of AI-generated video prompts for free Sora users to six per day. "Our gpus are melting, and we want to let as many people access Sora as possible" said Sora head Bill Peebles in a post to X.

Nano Banana launched to widespread interest following a successful journey up the LMArena AI leaderboard in August. While it originally ran with Gemini 2.5 Flash, the model got a major Gemini 3 upgrade just last week, shortly after Google began integrating the AI tool into Google Search, NotebookLM, Google Photos, and even Google Message. Google plans to add the image generator to more products, including directly into Android's Chrome Canary search bar.

That move is in line with Google's plan to turn it's suite of products into AI-supercharged helpers, boosted by Gemini 3. The model was the first Gemini AI upgrade to roll out immediately to all Google products, including search, and was advertised as the tech giant's most advanced reasoning model yet. Upon launch, users were offered five free prompts per day. The Gemini app sees more than 650 million users per month.

Fox launched its direct-to-consumer streaming service in August and changed the game for sports fans. Previously, cord-cutters had to sign up for a pay TV provider like YouTube TV ($82.99/month) or at the very least, Sling ($24.99/month), to watch live Fox channels. Fox One offers a more affordable alternative at $19.99 per month and it just got the deal treatment for Black Friday.

From now through Cyber Monday on Dec. 1, new subscribers can add Fox One to Prime Video (or snag it as a solo streaming service) for only $9.99 per month for two months. That's 50% off its usual monthly cost, making it a much more appealing way to stream live sports.

A one-stop shop for the entirety of the Fox TV portfolio, Fox One gives subscribers access to live local Fox stations, as well as Fox Sports, FS1, FS2, Big Ten Network, Fox News, Fox Business, Fox Weather, Fox Deportes, and Fox Network. This is a big deal for NFL fans, in particular, as it gives you a legal way to tune into local games on Sundays for the remainder of the season. It will also give college football fans access to the Big Ten Championship game and more.

One thing to note is that Fox One does not offer original content as of now. It's also pretty heavy on the news broadcasts, which makes its typical $19.99 per month price tag a bit steep if you're only after sports. That's why this Black Friday streaming deal is so attractive. For $10 per month, you'll gain a ton of live sports coverage, including notoriously hard to access (and extremely expensive) NFL games. That's not so shabby.

I test robot vacuums for a living and have been keeping tabs on robot vacuum deals trends for over half a decade — and I'd say Black Friday's count of robot vacuums on sale beats spring cleaning sales and even both Prime Days. It makes sense: Many brands release their new vacuums for the year at CES in January (or at least near the CES time frame), so Black Friday is often an eleventh-hour push to sell the "old" but still great robot vacuums from the past year.

The Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller is the most powerful robot vacuum on the mainstream market, and it's less than $1,000 for the first time ever for Black Friday. Spending that much on a vacuum probably sounds like brain rot to budget shoppers, but think of it this way: The Dreame's 30,000 Pa of suction power is more than 10,000 Pa stronger than the most powerful robot vacuums we saw on sale last Black Friday, and they were still hovering around the $1,000 mark. With the addition of a robust self-rinsing roller mop, this is a real bang for your buck.

I've been testing the Aqua10 Ultra Roller at home for over a month and can personally confirm its efficacy. Its pet hair pickup on rugs has impressed me the most: It has had about a 99 percent pickup rate for large clumps of cat hair that I put in its path and smoosh down into various pile heights. On patterned rugs that camouflage the layer of fur to the naked eye, I've ChomChom-ed the area after the Aqua10 Ultra Roller has done a few passes — and there's barely anything left over to get rolled into the ChomChom compartment. When is Best Buy's Black Friday sale?

Best Buy's Black Friday sale began on Thursday, Nov. 20, and continues through Saturday, Nov. 29. All of its feature deals are available in stores, online, and on the Best Buy mobile app, according to a company press release.

What time does Best Buy open on Black Friday?

Best Buy stores opened at 6 a.m. local time on Black Friday. Camping out is only mandatory if a deal you're eyeing is sold out online but still available in stores, IMO.

Does Best Buy do doorbusters?

Yes, Best Buy is supplementing its Black Friday deals with some limited-time doorbusters, which it's billing as "some of the best deals on the hottest tech of the season." These offers drop in batches every Friday through Christmas, and paid My Best Buy members earn $5 in bonus rewards for every $50 they spend on them (up to $25). That includes the Plus and Total membership tiers.

Best Buy doesn't price-match competitors' deals during Black Friday, but it will price-match itself. If something you've bought there from Oct. 31 to Dec. 31 gets cheaper during that period, you can request to have your purchase adjusted to the better price through Jan. 15, 2026. The only items that aren't covered by this price-match guarantee are holiday decorations and products that come with a third-party contract (like smartphones).

For example, if you purchased a pair of Apple AirPods Max for $429.99 at Best Buy earlier this week, you should be able to take advantage of their new lower price of $399.99 (live as of Nov. 25).

What is Best Buy's return policy?

Under its extended holiday return policy, Best Buy will accept returns for most items purchased from Oct. 31 to Dec. 31 through Jan. 15, 2026. That deadline stretches to Jan. 31 for paid My Best Buy members.

Similar exclusions apply here. Holiday decorations have a 15-day return window, for one. "Activatable" devices (meaning those that come with data plans) can only be returned within 14 days, and they have a $45 restocking fee if opened. Scooters, drones, digital cameras, action cameras, lenses, projectors, fitness recovery devices, cold tubs, saunas, and special-order products have a 15% restocking fee if they're unboxed.

When is Best Buy's Cyber Monday sale?

Best Buy will kick off its Cyber Monday savings event on Sunday, Nov. 30, and it will run for 48 hours through Dec. 1 (aka actual Cyber Monday). The company's press release notes that "there will be limited-time deals available throughout the event," so expect a slightly different assortment than its Black Friday sale.

Is the LG C5 OLED TV deal as good as it seems?

Serious deal hunters will notice a conspicuous absence from this guide: The award-winning LG C5 OLED TV, specifically the 65-inch model. A lot of our competitors are writing about Best Buy's Black Friday deal on it, and it's easy to see why. The retailer has it listed for $1,399.99, or $1,300 off its usual price. That's a really attractive discount on what's arguably the best TV ever made.

However, this deal isn't as good as it seems. Amazon has been selling the same TV for $1,346.99, but on Black Friday, it dropped prices all the way down to $1,219.99.

But as for the actual best Black Friday OLED TV deal, we're giving that title to the Samsung S95F OLED. That's another of our top OLED TV recommendations for its wickedly effective glare handling, and the 65-inch model is $1,000 off at Best Buy with a free $100 gift card on top.

Like most major retailers, Best Buy has been offering holiday deals all throughout November. Now that Black Friday is officially here, the competition is more ferocious than ever.

Below, I'm keeping a running list of all the actual best Black Friday deals at Best Buy — the products that aren't cheaper anywhere else, even by a cent or two, if they're available at another retailer. I'm digging through all of its listings and cross-checking them with the competition to make sure they're truly add-to-cart-worthy.

If you shopped at Best Buy earlier this month, rest assured that nearly all of its deals have stayed consistent since its Black Friday sale first went live on Nov. 20. Only a couple of Apple devices have gotten cheaper, and the second-gen Bose QuietComfort Ultra earbuds cost $33 less than earlier this week. (You can request a price adjustment for those through Jan. 15 under Best Buy's holiday price match guarantee.) Three on-sale Samsung TVs also now come with free $100 gift cards.

You'll notice I've marked some deals with a door emoji (🚪), which indicates those Best Buy is featuring as doorbusters. They're only live through the end of the day tomorrow (Nov. 29), and paid My Best Buy members get a $5 bonus reward for every $50 they spend on them (up to $25 total).

Stay tuned for Best Buy's Drop of the day, which stars Lego's The Legend of Zelda Great Deku Tree set ($299.99). It's currently in stock there, so in all likelihood, the Drop will involve some sort of discount. It's a popular set that's not on sale anywhere else, so I'm guessing it'll sell out fast. Best Buy is selling an even cheaper 13-inch MacBook Air — a $649 M2 model — but the M4 version is a way better buy for only $100 more. It's 48 percent faster, supports two external displays with its lid open, and has a much nicer 12MP Center Stage webcam. I strongly recommend it for students, but also just anyone who wants a fast, portable Apple laptop. This is its lowest price ever, FYI.

The Zenbook A14 is an amazing ultraportable and the best MacBook Air alternative for Windows users, in my opinion. At $698, this Black Friday deal not only beats its Prime Day price by more than $50, but it marks a new record-low. It's not quite as impressive as its QM8K sibling, but the QM6K is "a stellar mini LED TV for the low-to-mid-tier price range," as our team pointed out in our roundup of the best TVs for 2025.

While we do think the LG C5 is the best OLED TV you can buy right now, it's not necessarily the best Black Friday OLED TV deal. For example, the $1,399.99 "sale price" on the 65-inch C5 at Best Buy looks like an incredible deal until you realize that that TV has been $1,399.99 at Amazon since October. It's that time again, folks: Black Friday sales are live. Lots of Apple gadgets are on sale for record-low prices this week, including all current- and recent-gen iPads. Shoppers can save anywhere from $50 to $200 on Apple tablets across major retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, and Target. (The Apple Store itself is just giving away free gift cards with eligible Black Friday purchases, so it's pretty skippable.)

Below, we've rounded up the absolute best Black Friday iPad deals available right now. Deals are maxing out at 25% off and the basic iPad is the best deal at the moment, going for $274. (It's 99 cents pricier at Target but Best Buy finally matched its price.) The 11-inch tablet comes with a peppy A16 chip, Touch ID, and 12MP front and rear cameras. "[It's] great for someone who wants a portable screen for streaming, playing games, and reading," according to our reviewer. If you bundle it with an also-on-sale USB-C Apple Pencil or first-gen Apple Pencil, it's still cheaper than any iPad Air or Pro.

Now that the M5 chip has arrived, the 13-inch M4 iPad Pro is no longer the shiniest new model on the market — but that doesn't mean much in the era of iterative upgrades. It's overkill for most people, but great for professional artists and creatives. While most of this week's Black Friday iPad discounts top off around $50 to $100, this M4 iPad Pro's 256GB base model is chilling at $200 off. It's $100 cheaper than its M5 equivalent.

With a career spanning classic films (Ratatouille, Zoolander, and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire) and iconic tv shows (The King of Queens, Kim Possible, and Family Guy), Patton Oswalt has become a fixture on our screens. But Patton's true passion is stand-up comedy. And with his Audible-produced 10th comedy album, Black Coffee and Ice Water, he may be doing his best work yet. Oswalt sat down with Say More host Mark Stetson to talk about his brand new comedy album, the state of Hollywood, and the evolution of his career.

What began as a casual interview about his career turned into a mediation on Hollywood, artificial intelligence, and what makes good art. Oswalt explained how, even though every generation worries that they are experiencing the death of good art, great comedy and fantastic films always persevere. He also went into how, during his career, he has experienced multiple booms and crashes in film and stand-up, and that it's easy to spot the familiar artist archetypes within each new generation.

When it comes to artificial intelligence in art, Oswalt didn't mince words. "AI is not going anywhere, we cannot wish this stuff away. Because we invented it. So how do we find ways to work around it or find a way to make it human?" Oswalt and Stetson discussed how AI is not currently optimized for artists who enjoy the process of creating, but instead for those whose joy comes from the reward of the product of it.

"Look, I like the rewards, too. But the rewards are only fun if you got it. It's almost like the getting away with it. I got all this success from making up things from thin air. There's something beautiful about that... Getting to sit down and come up with a joke out of nothing, it's never not been thrilling for me. It'll never get old for me."

Oswalt also looked back at his illustrious career spanning over three decades, starting off as a character actor on shows like Seinfeld and News Radio, and how it evolved to him being cast as himself in shows like What We Do in the Shadows and Hacks. "I've always said I'm in showbiz for the money and the anecdotes. I want really amazing stories. I want every part of the canvas covered. I want to be able to explore every corner of it. It changes you when you experience all of this stuff."
