USB Key: U3 or Not?
PDF version
I have a nice U3 key which unfortunately will not be supported by Windows VISTA as it is NOT the clever-stuff one:

And it can therefore not run the latest version of U3 1.4.0.2
So I have found a couple of cool sites to add more apps:
http://portableapps.com/
http://www.framakey.org/Main/Index (French)

and if you want to make your own U3 apps, use "package factory" (nice free software) available at:
http://www.eure.ca/
u3 does have offer cool features such as automatic start, the eject button that close the key in few seconds, the easy possibility to protect the key with an access code...
So if you have a key with U3 on it, it can be usefull to keep it, if it runs on all of your platform. Otherwise, you can reformat it, and using tools like FlashBoot and Thinstall, you could make a very nice toolbox. With that in mind, check out the USB Toolbox 2.0.
Enjoy :)
