While Prime Day is officially dead and gone, prices are still dropping. Case in point: you can get the newest Roku streamer for its best price ever a week after the shopping event.
As of July 14, the 2025 Roku Streaming Stick Plus is down to just $29 instead of its usual $39.99 at Amazon. That's 27% in savings and its lowest price on record since its release in May.
Technology moves fast and smart TVs, while advanced, can often struggle to keep the pace. And it's not exactly feasible to buy a new smart TV that often. Roku's latest streamer bridges the gap, delivering improved hardware, enhanced performance, and an uber-quick interface. In other words, it makes your smart TV even smarter. The 2025 Streaming Stick Plus is packed with top-notch features like Backdrops, free programming, voice commands, and brilliant 4K picture and vivid HDR color. Plus, of course, it comes with our favorite streaming interface.
The latest device, like previous versions, is also extremely compact. That means it's portable enough to take with you wherever you go. Imagine being able to watch your favorite shows in your vacation rental without having to log into a stranger's smart TV. A dream.
It's not the most glamorous purchase, but it is a whole lot more affordable than buying a whole new 4K TV. Not to mention, it's only two months old, making it relatively future-proof.

On July 9, 2025, Mashable’s Tech Team gave us a play-by-play of Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked livestream event, where the company finally announced the very real release of the Galaxy Z Fold7 — a new flagship foldable phone that’s basically a tablet when fully opened.
SEE ALSO: Samsung Galaxy Unpacked: Every phone announced, including Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7Although the phone isn’t officially available until July 25, pre-orders have already started (as of this article’s writing), and as is typical with Samsung devices, there are some deals available for those who want to jump on board early. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 is available in three colors: Blue Shadow, Jet Black, and Silver Shadow. No matter which hue you pick, the Z Fold7 will run you $1,999.99, before any trade-in credits or discounts. If you order through Amazon, you'll receive the phone unlocked, meaning you aren't tied to a specific carrier.
SEE ALSO: Pre-ordering the new Samsung Galaxy Watch 8? Here's how to get a free $50 Amazon gift card. This phone features a design that’s “slimmer than ever” and is supposed to feel easier to hold than previous models. It has a massive 8-inch AMOLED display when unfolded, along with a 6.5-inch cover screen. It also comes with 512GB of storage (with this specific deal) and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
For cameras, you’ll get a 200MP camera with Pro-Visual Engine on the rear, along with a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 10MP telephoto lens, plus two selfie cameras (one on the cover and one under the display).
This isn’t all the Galaxy Z Fold7 has to offer, but it’s a good glimpse at what to expect.

As of July 14, you can snag a 28-pack of Duracell AA batteries on sale for $17.74 at Amazon, marked down from the standard price of $21.75. That works out at an 18% discount. Today's sale price is also the lowest we've ever spotted at Amazon.
SEE ALSO: Pre-ordering the new Samsung Galaxy Watch 8? Here's how to get a free $50 Amazon gift card.Batteries are on the list of home essentials you should always keep around. Like running out of toilet paper, searching for a battery when the remote is already dead only to find an empty box in the drawer is never fun. But thanks to this Amazon deal, you can restock with 28 Duracell AA batteries.
Since the 28-pack is on sale for $17.74, each battery costs an affordable $0.63. Aside from the sale price, the knowledge that you won't have to go searching for a device with AA batteries so you can swap them over is well worth the small investment. Keep in mind your work-essential mouse might very well require AA batteries and you don't want to be stuck with a dead mouse while working on a deadline.
Duracell claims these batteries can last for up to 12 years in storage, so there's no reason to not stock up during today's sale. The 28 batteries also come in a resealable pack, so they'll all stay neatly in one location instead of rolling around.
Save yourself a trip to Target and stock up on Duracell AA batteries while they're on sale post Prime Day.

Moon phase today: What the moon will look like on July 14, 2025
Interested in why the moon looks like it does tonight? Wonder no more, here's what you need to know about tonight's moon, as it moves through the lunar cycle.
The lunar cycle is a series of eight unique phases of the moon's visibility. The whole cycle takes about 29.5 days, according to NASA, and these different phases happen as the Sun lights up different parts of the moon whilst it orbits Earth.
See what's happening tonight, July 14.
What is today’s moon phase? As of Monday, July 14, the moon phase is still in Waning Gibbous. The moon is still mostly lit up, even days after the full moon. Tonight it will be 85% visible to us, NASA's Daily Moon Observation tells us.
It's day 19 of the lunar cycle, and here's what you'll be able to see when you look up. Without any visual aids, enjoy sights of the Aristarchus Plateau, the Copernicus Crater, and the Mare Serenitatis. With binoculars, you'll also spot the Clavius Crater, Alphonsus Crater, and the Mare Nectaris.
With a telescope, you'll see all this and more, including the Apollo 12 and 16. The rocks collected during the Apollo 16 mission are some of the oldest brought back from the Moon, according to NASA.
When is the next full moon? The next full moon will be on August 9. The last full moon was on July 10.
What are moon phases?Moon phases are part of a 29.5-day lunar cycle, NASA tells us, caused by the angles between the sun, moon, and Earth. Moon phases are how the moon looks from Earth as it goes around us. We always see the same side of the moon, but how much of it is lit up by the Sun changes depending on where it is in its orbit. So, sometimes it looks full, sometimes half, and sometimes not there at all. There are eight main moon phases, and they follow a repeating cycle:
New Moon - The moon is between Earth and the sun, so the side we see is dark (in other words, it's invisible to the eye).
Waxing Crescent - A small sliver of light appears on the right side (Northern Hemisphere).
First Quarter - Half of the moon is lit on the right side. It looks like a half-moon.
Waxing Gibbous - More than half is lit up, but it’s not quite full yet.
Full Moon - The whole face of the moon is illuminated and fully visible.
Waning Gibbous - The moon starts losing light on the right side.
Last Quarter (or Third Quarter) - Another half-moon, but now the left side is lit.
Waning Crescent - A thin sliver of light remains on the left side before going dark again.
Google is merging Android with ChromeOS
Google is looking to combine Android and ChromeOS into a single operating system.
Sameer Samat, president of Android Ecosystem at Google, revealed the news in an interview with TechRadar's Lance Ulanoff. "We’re going to be combining ChromeOS and Android into a single platform," he said, though Samat didn't say when the change may happen.
SEE ALSO: 3 new Android 16 features to try thanks to Android CanaryIn fact, much of the interview revolves around other Android-related topics, including changes Google has made to Android 16, making it more customizable and integrating Gemini throughout many of its features.
Still, the prospect of Android and ChromeOS being combined into one operating system is the biggest news here, as we've heard rumors of it happening for years.
ChromeOS is Google's operating system for Chromebook laptops, and several other devices including an HDMI dongle called Chromebit, and a mini PC called Chromebox. It's designed to be light and fast, and relies heavily on Google's Chrome browser as well as Google's cloud for storage.
While Samat didn't share any details of what this merger may look like once it happens, he did tell TechRadar he's "very interested in how people are using their laptops these days and what they’re getting done."
Notably, Google recently introduced several features into Android that make it a bit more friendly for computers and tablets, including Desktop Mode, which turns a Pixel device into a mini PC of sorts.

This watch was released in late 2023, bringing a stark upgrade from the previous model. It boasts impressive health and lifestyle stats, and as of July 14, it's at its lowest price in 2025.
Right now, you can save $109 on list price. Prime Day may have come to an end last week, but deals like this are still lingering days later, and we're not mad about it.

It also has a much-improved battery life, boasting 11 days when in smartwatch mode.
As you'd expect from Garmin, the stats and tracking features are seriously next level; it offers an advanced range of health metrics, including heart rate, SpO2, stress levels, and detailed sleep analysis. The sleep tracking has been improved from previous models and now includes sleep coaching. For sports enthusiasts, it supports tracking for running, cycling, swimming, and a wide variety of other activities. Despite not being part of the more advanced Garmin ranges, this watch is more than capable of tracking long activities, up to marathon level and beyond.
However, it's worth noting that it does lack some of the more advanced training features, including training readiness and status. It is also no longer the newest in the range after the release of the vívoactive 6 earlier this year, but if owning the latest in the range doesn't matter to you, the 5 is still an excellent choice.
Get it from Amazon now, before the price goes back up to pre-Prime Day levels.

Grok is now in Tesla cars, but not in the way you think
Last week, Elon Musk said xAI's Grok chatbot would be coming to Tesla vehicles. Now, the company has made good on the CEO's promise, but perhaps not in the way many users had hoped.
Launched on Saturday, the latest firmware update for Tesla cars brings Grok functionality to some vehicles — namely, only those with an AMD chip inside. That means only Teslas produced around mid-2021 or later can access Grok.

This means that Tesla owners won't be able to use Grok smarts to get better functionality out of the car's voice command interface, which often leaves a lot to be desired (I've personally struggled to issue basic commands to a Tesla Model 3, including choosing a song to play or simply getting it to understand what I'm trying to say).

There's no word on whether Grok's behavior in Tesla cars may change in the future.
The new functionality came after a tough week for Grok (and those who had the misfortune of seeing its posts), as it went on an antisemitic tirade on X — just a few days after Musk announced that the chatbot had been "improved significantly." Per The Verge, the chatbot's system had been tuned to "not shy away from making claims which are politically incorrect." In an update over the weekend, xAI apologized for the issue and said the code negatively affecting the Grok's "horrific behavior" has been removed.
Shortly after the incident, xAI launched a new version of Grok, which beats other AI assistant in a number of AI benchmarks.
