The first salvos in a structural conflict against the inherently extractive nature of AI models? Or a massive legal pile-on? Yeah. Probably both.
Most are copyright claims by authors, record labels, newsrooms, academic publishers and um, Disney who say major AI models like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Anthropic’s Claude have been trained illegally on their creative and commercial output, far beyond “fair use”.
