Get high-end audio for less with refurbished Powerbeats Pro

TL;DR: Score Grade A refurbished Powerbeats Pro 2 wireless earbuds for $159.97 — same performance, way less price.

If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to treat your ears to something extraordinary — this is it. The Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 wireless earbuds deliver the kind of premium audio experience typically reserved for $250 price tags, but this refurbished Grade A pair lets you score them for just $159.97.

Let’s start with what makes them great: an incredible fit. These earbuds were tested on over 1,000 athletes and put through 1,500 hours of real-world motion to ensure they don’t budge. Whether you’re sprinting, lifting, or commuting, the redesigned hooks keep things locked in without any pinch or pressure.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Beats without serious sound. The Powerbeats Pro 2 packs dual-layer drivers for powerful, balanced output, plus Adaptive EQ that tunes your audio in real time. And if you’re zoning in? Active Noise Cancelling shuts out the world. Want to hear your surroundings? Flip to Transparency Mode and stay aware.

Powered by Apple’s H2 chip, these buds are smooth, fast, and reliable. You’ll get up to 10 hours of listening time per earbud and an extra 35 hours from the wireless charging case — that’s 45 hours of battery life in total. Not bad for something that weighs less than a protein bar.

These come refurbished to Grade A condition, which means they’re near-mint and barely distinguishable from new. The only thing very different is the price tag — and honestly, that’s the best part.

So, whether you’re an athlete, a podcast power-user, or just someone who refuses to settle for crummy earbuds, this deal’s got your back (and your ears).

Pick up these Grade A refurbished Powerbeats Pro 2 wireless earbuds for $159.97 (reg. $249.99) with free shipping through July 15.

Online privacy tools have become as essential as your morning coffee. But what if you could level up your security game without juggling subscriptions or trusting your data to someone else’s server? That’s exactly what the Deeper Connect Mini offers — a decentralized VPN (or DPN) and hardware firewall rolled into one compact, silver box that works quietly behind the scenes.

Unlike traditional VPN services that route your data through third-party servers, DPN technology ensures you own the pathway. Your information isn’t stored or logged elsewhere, and no single company controls your access. That means no central failure point, better privacy, and no strings attached.

But this isn’t just a better VPN alternative — it’s a full-on security upgrade for your entire network. The built-in 7-layer firewall guards every device in your home, including those easy-to-ignore smart gadgets like voice assistants and cameras. It also blocks ads (yes, even YouTube ads) and lets you set parental controls with a single click, making it ideal for families.

Plus, there’s no recurring fee. Pay once, plug it in, and you’re covered for life. The hardware even offers blockchain-powered passive income by allowing you to securely share unused bandwidth.

At under six inches long and under half a pound, it’s discreet, efficient, and easy to set up. Whether you’re a privacy pro, a concerned parent, or just tired of internet ads and monthly bills, the Deeper Connect Mini can be your new favorite internet companion.

Prime Day is over but these 10 popular deals are still live (plus one free bonus offer)

Sat, 07/12/2025 - 19:26

Having covered Prime Day for Mashable since 2022, I can tell you that the end of the sale doesn't always mean the end of the deals. The official four-day shopping event is over, and while most of the lightning deals have vanished, a surprising number of top-tier products are still available at their discounted prices.

I've been sifting through the aftermath to find the best of the best that are still live. From must-have Apple gadgets to Ninja appliances, here are the 10 post-Prime Day deals that are absolutely still worth your money this weekend.

Buy 2, Get 1 Free Opens in a new window Credit: Ballantine Books Buy 3 for the Price of 2: Books, CDs, DVDs, and Blu-Ray discs Get Deal Why we like it

As much as we love streaming service, sometimes you want to own your favorite media, not rent it. So, cap off the Prime Day shopping week with a free book or Blu-ray of your choice. Popular titles included in the promotion include movies like Moana 2, books like Project Hail Mary, and new CDs like Lorde's Virgin. This post-Prime Day Amazon sale lets you buy three pieces of physical media for the price of two. It's not quite a BOGO deal, but it's still much appreciated.

Best AirPods deal still live Opens in a new window Credit: Apple Apple AirPods Pro 2 $249 at Amazon
Get Deal Why we like it

I am genuinely shocked this deal is still live. This record-low price on Apple's AirPods Pro 2 was a pre-sale surprise; it first dropped to $149 on July 7, the day before Prime Day even kicked off.

Somehow, they're still available for that price. For under $150, you're getting Apple's top-tier earbuds, which feature active noise cancellation (ANC), Adaptive Audio that adjusts to your environment, and new hearing health features like a scientifically validated Hearing Test. This is, without a doubt, the best value you'll find on the best earbuds Apple makes.

Read our review: The new AirPods Pro look old but sound fresh

Best runner-up AirPods deal still live Opens in a new window Credit: Apple Apple AirPods 4 $119 at Amazon
$179 Save $60 Get Deal Why we like it

While the AirPods Pro 2 are my top pick, I also have to highlight the deal on the AirPods 4 with ANC. Former Mashable Tech Editor Kimberly Gedeon, tested them on a 3,319-mile flight and was seriously impressed. She found that the ANC "significantly reduce[d] the drone of the airplane engine" and the sound quality was "honeyed," especially when using Personalized Spatial Audio.

She also praised the new "one-size-fits-most" design, which stayed snug even while running on a treadmill. If you don't need ANC, you can get the Apple AirPods 4 w/o ANC for $89, down from $129.

Best iPad deal still live Opens in a new window Credit: Apple Apple iPad (11-inch) $279 at Amazon
$349 Save $70 Get Deal Why we like it

For a long time, buying the base-model iPad meant settling for an outdated design with a home button. Not anymore. The new 11-inch iPad is essentially a more affordable iPad Air, making it our top pick for the best value tablet deal still available post-Prime Day. As Mashable's Samantha Mangino argues, it's "a great entry-level tablet" for anyone working on a budget.

It has the modern all-screen design with a Liquid Retina display, the speedy A16 chip for a nice performance boost, and a landscape front camera that's much better for video calls. Most importantly, the base storage has been doubled to 128GB, so you don't need to worry about loading up on apps and photos. The post-Prime Day deal price of $279.99 — a record-low for this model — is still active on the Blue model, but be aware that the Pink is sold out and the Yellow model is currently priced about $20 higher.

Best AirTag deal still live Opens in a new window Credit: Apple Apple AirTag (4-Pack) $67.99 at Amazon
$99 Save $31.01 Get Deal Why we like it

I have two beagles who are professional escape artists, so my favorite use for Apple's AirTags is putting them on their harnesses. It gives me peace of mind knowing I can track them down using the Find My network if they ever get loose.

While the price for a four-pack has ticked up by about $3 since its Prime Day low, it's still a pretty good deal. With summer travel upon us, now's the perfect time to grab a pack for your keys, wallet, and especially your luggage. You can get a four-pack for just $67.99, which is a 31% discount off the usual $99 list price.

Best Amazon deal still live Opens in a new window Credit: Amazon Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K (newest model) $24.99 at Amazon
$49.99 Save $25.00 Get Deal Why we like it

Amazon's own devices always see some of the steepest discounts during Prime Day, and my pick for the best deal still live is, without a doubt, the Fire TV Stick 4K. It's a massive upgrade for a tiny price. If you have an older TV or even a newer one with a slow, clunky interface, this is the easiest and most affordable way to fix it.

This newest model delivers a cinematic experience with support for 4K Ultra HD and Dolby Vision, plus WiFi 6 for smoother streaming with less buffering. For $24.99 — a full 50% off its list price — it's the best tech upgrade you can make for under $25.

Best TV deal still live Opens in a new window Credit: Hisense 65-Inch Hisense Class QD6 Series (65QD6QF, 2025 Model) QLED 4K UHD Smart Fire TV $359.99 at Amazon
$499.99 Save $140 Get Deal Why we like it

Finding a 65-inch 4K TV for under $400 is a good deal. Finding a QLED model with premium gaming and home theater features at that price is almost unheard of, which makes this Hisense my pick for the best TV deal still live after Prime Day.

With this deal, you're getting a big screen plus QLED panel which produces over a billion shades of vibrant color. It also supports high-end home theater formats like Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos sound. It's an absolute steal for just $359.99, which was a record-low price as of July 10.

Best Ninja deal still live Opens in a new window Credit: Ninja Ninja Crispi 4-in-1 Portable Glass Air Fryer (FN101GY) $159.95 at Amazon
$179.99 Save $20.04 Get Deal Why we like it

I've never bought an air fryer of my own, but I've had my eye on the Ninja Crispi for months. I'm genuinely interested in how well this meal-prepping gadget works, and when it finally went on sale, I was ecstatic. The best news is that its post-sale discount is still live, but I definitely don't see it staying at this price for very long.

Mangino reviewed this product too, and admitted she was initially skeptical of the strange-looking glass air fryer. However, she found that it "delivered food that was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside," handling her tests of both tofu and frozen French fries with "flying colors." She also noted its convenience for meal preppers and praised its ability to cook, serve, and store leftovers all in the same dishwasher-safe glass container. For anyone with a small kitchen or a love for clever gadgets, it's a great buy at its current sale price of $159.95.

Read our review: We tested the most popular Ninja appliances in our own kitchens. Here's what we found.

Best Lego deal still live Opens in a new window Credit: Lego Lego Classic Medium Creative Brick Box (10696) $15.29 at Amazon
$34.99 Save $19.70 Get Deal Why we like it

Some of my favorite deals are the ones I have personal experience with, and this is one of them. My nephew has this exact Lego Classic set, and we play with it all the time. What I love about it is that it's just a giant box of creative potential. Unlike the themed sets that you build once and put on a shelf, this one encourages imaginative, free-form building.

It comes with 484 pieces in 35 different colors, including plenty of wheels, eyes, and windows, so you can build whatever you can think of, from tigers to trains to weird-looking cars. It even comes in a convenient plastic storage box. The fact that it's still on sale for its all-time record-low price after Prime Day is crazy in the best way possible.

Best hydration deal still live Opens in a new window Credit: LifeStraw LifeStraw Personal Water Filter $9.95 at Amazon
$17.49 Save $7.54 Get Deal Why we like it

I've never personally used a LifeStraw, but it was the number-one best-selling product among our readers during Prime Day this year. This super-practical personal water filter removes over 99.9% of waterborne bacteria, parasites, and microplastics, so you can drink from a river or lake without getting sick.

It's an essential for any hiker, camper, or emergency go-bag. The fact that this deal is still live for under $10 is why it continues to be a best-seller, even after the main event has ended.

Best coupon deal Opens in a new window Credit: Acne Healing Patches Store Herbs Healthy Healing Acne Healing patches (144 Count) $7.95 at Amazon
$9.95 Save $2.00 Get Deal Why we like it

I know what you're thinking. This is a tech deals list, so what are acne patches doing here? While we rarely cover beauty products (unless it's a Shark, Dyson, or a beauty tool like the Solawave skincare wand), this coupon deal was too good to ignore.

These hydrocolloid patches (144 count) can be an absolute lifesaver whenever you have a big event coming up. They're infused with Salicylic Acid and Tea Tree Oil to help reduce redness and shrink pimples overnight. They're also discreet and ultra-thin, but you can also use them as an overnight spot treatment. A pack of 144 patches is already a great value, but right now there's a coupon on the page that drops the price under $8.

The Walmart Deals event is still going strong: Save on Lego, Dyson, Instant Pot, and more.

Prime Day is officially over at Amazon, but Walmart isn't quitting yet. This year, Walmart gave Prime Day a bigger run for its money with the "Walmart Deals" savings event, which runs from July 8 to 13. The sale is two days longer than Prime Day 2025, which was only live from July 8 to 11 (making it the longest Prime Day ever). It's also twice as long as last year's Walmart Deals event, which ran for three days the week before Prime Day 2024. Shoppers can peruse Walmart Deals both online at Walmart.com/deals and in stores, which is a first for the retailer.

Unlike Prime Day, Walmart Deals isn't paywalled. However, paid Walmart+ members got early online access to its offers before everyone else. Shoppers who haven't signed up for Walmart+ yet can save 50% on their first year of an annual membership through July 15, paying $49 instead of $98. On top of early access to certain sales throughout the year, the program unlocks perks like free shipping, fuel discounts, and a bonus Paramount+ Essential subscription. The latter is worth $59.99 per year on its own.

Walmart's summer sale is chock-full of discounts on popular brands like Dyson, Instant Pot, Lego, Ninja, Apple, and Samsung. However, you'll also find discounts on no-name tech brands (I don't know what "RNRUO" or "VEATOOL" are, and I'm too afraid to ask). After combing through hundreds (thousands?) of deals, I managed to find some diamonds in the rough, and I've collected them all here.

Of note, Walmart's deals on Apple wearables and accessories are so good that I've broken them out into their own dedicated section. AirPods are still on sale at record-low prices, and Walmart also has the USB-C Apple Pencil listed for $59, or $20 off, which initially beat Amazon and Best Buy's counter-offer by $10 — though the two retailers have since matched Walmart's pricing.

Other highlights include a $200 discount on our favorite Dyson vacuum and a 50-inch Vizio QLED TV that's only $218. Mashable's TV expert, Leah Stodart, tells me that's the cheapest QLED model she's encountered anywhere so far this Prime Day. You also might be able to catch one of Walmart's restocks of the $499 Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle during its sale, but no promises.

Apple's AirPods Pro 2 are a fantastic choice if you're already in the Apple world. They'll seamlessly pair with your iPhone, iPad, or MacBook and the superb noise-cancellation is a major plus. On Mashable's list of the best noise-cancelling headphones, the AirPods Pro 2 earn the accolade of the best option for Apple users. Of course, since these came out in 2023, they include the incredibly welcomed USB-C port.

Walmart typically offers the cheapest TV deals in most size categories during major shopping holidays, Mashable's Stodart tells me. This Prime Day, it has the cheapest 50-inch QLED TV: a $218 Vizio model. (Amazon's cheapest 50-inch QLED is a $246.99 Hisense model, for reference.) No need to settle for noticeably dull colors if your living room or bedroom can't fit a massive display.

If your PC gaming setup could benefit from a little more screen real estate, Walmart's deal on this 28-inch, 144Hz 4K Samsung Odyssey monitor is pretty stellar: At $299 (normally $699.99), it's almost 60% off. That's $100 better than the same monitor's sale price on Samsung's website. Out of all the offers featured in Walmart's summer sale, I think I'm most surprised that this one hasn't sold out yet.

Lego released this 2,336-piece Land Rover Defender build as part of its "Icons" series in spring 2023 to mark the off-roader's 75th anniversary. Its website has it flagged as "hard to find," and indeed, it's sold out on Amazon. Conversely, Walmart has it stock at the discounted price of $179, which works out to a $60-ish savings. Data on the Amazon price-tracking site CamelCamelCamel shows that it's never gone on sale there before, so this is likely its lowest price yet.

What is the Gen Z stare? TikTok zoomers and millennials are bickering over facial expressions

Sat, 07/12/2025 - 19:08

TikTok loves to argue — and the latest spat is over the so-called Gen Z stare.

You might have a few questions like: 1) what's the Gen Z stare? and 2) why is TikTok fighting over this? and 3) who would spend their time fighting over this? Well, we'll get into all that.

But first, the primary question.

What is the Gen Z stare?

Well, the full answer depends on who you ask. But the agreed upon facts are that it's a blank, middle-distance stare into the void often employed by Gen Z folks. (By the way, definitions vary, but, roughly speaking, Gen Z spans those born between 1997-2012.) From someone else's perspective, it's a young person staring into nowhere as you attempt to communicate with them.

We cannot, however, go much further without getting into the bickering.

What is the Gen Z stare trend on TikTok and why are people arguing about it?

First things first, most people online are not arguing over the existence of the Gen Z stare, but rather how and why it's deployed. And, another disclaimer, no generation is a monolith and no opinion or behavior is fully shared among any large swath of humans. We are complicated, silly, hypocritical, intelligent creatures who are able to hold both multiple truths and misbeliefs at once. Have you ever seen Werner Herzog wax poetic about skateboarding? The human condition is unpredictable.

Anyway, I'm generalizing, but Gen Z seems to think boomers, Gen Xers, and millennials — the cringe millennial especially — are the cause of Gen Z stare and the source of a misunderstanding about it. In this version of the Gen Z stare, the younger person is working a customer service job, and the stare is simply a reaction to a customer of an older generation doing something dumb or annoying. The Gen Z person then stares in disbelief or frustration. That's the thrust of the definition at online dictionary Know Your Meme, for instance. Here's a TikTok skit, for example, claiming the stare is for something like a boomer not understanding when to remove their credit card from a payment machine.

Or, another example, where someone might not understanding a basic fact — that a class is fully booked — leads to the stare.

Now, the arguing comes in because other folks have said that this definition of the Gen Z stare is incorrect. After all, plenty of people of all generations working customer service jobs have stared into the void when faced with a particularly incomprehensible customer. Instead, the argument goes, the Gen Z stare isn't necessarily about working a customer service job at all. It's more referencing folks' unwillingness or inability to participate in pleasantries or benign informational exchanges.

This version of the Gen Z stare refers to any situation where a young person gets approached about something simple (i.e., a basic question or a friendly "hello") and stares straight ahead instead of responding. In fact, millennials and others working service jobs have said they've gotten the stare from Gen Z customers. Here's @theprincessandthepoppers breaking it down (gently) for zoomers as a service worker who's seen the stare when asking customers where they'd like to sit in a restaurant.

And here's another skit addressing a similar scenario.

So why the bickering? Well, because zoomers have pushed back on the idea they might have a slightly weird habit. Meanwhile, millennials have retorted that the generation responsible for mercilessly roasting millennial behavior should be able to acknowledge their own occasional cringe behavior.

This @xiandivyne post pokes fun at Gen Z for getting defensive, basically saying they're claiming, "we're smart and you're stupid."

Or here's even a zoomer talking about experiencing the stare at work.

Now, to be fair to zoomers, a few weeks ago there were a few posts — and a write-up from the New York Post, naturally — complaining about the Gen Z "gaze" from service workers. That's seemingly related to the "stare" debate now, but it's certainly evolved.

So... why is this a thing?

Part of the reason this trend — or debate — has been embraced with such energy is the fact that it is slightly poking fun at Gen Z. Zoomers are young and, naturally, have a habit of roasting other generations — especially millennials because, to them, millennials are cringe. Millennial cringe compilations are literally a whole genre of video and, as a millennial, I can admit that's not without a good bit of merit. But some zoomers have seemingly not liked the fact that anyone would poke fun at their behavior, which has led to the Gen Z stare pushback and even more bickering online.

Tbh after doing nothing but insulting every other generation over nothing, I'm really enjoying the younger gen Z meltdown over people calling them on the gen Z stare

— Heartspocky (@heartspocky.bsky.social) July 11, 2025 at 9:51 AM

TikTok’s most recent discourse is the Gen Z stare and I’ve been cackling at some of these videos but this bottom comment is frying me

— Holekage of the Hidden Bussy Village (@cadreamboy.bsky.social) July 11, 2025 at 3:32 PM

I can't say for sure, but maybe the Gen Z stare is real. As some folks have floated online, small talk would be difficult for a generation that came of age during COVID isolation. Gen Z roasted millennials for the Millennial Pause — the habit of waiting a beat before talking during a recording — so maybe zoomers have the same issue, but IRL instead of on their phone.

But the real reason this is a trend, or an argument, is because it's become fertile ground for zoomers to get defensive and (mostly) millennials to poke fun or gently point out something about Gen Z. In total, it seems to be a pretty laid back argument — nobody's actually getting pissed off — but it does seem to be growing in vigor lately.

But as a millennial, I'd rather try to bridge the gap with zoomers with something we can all agree on: at least we're not boomers.

The adorable Bissell Little Green Mini is only $69 at Amazon

Sat, 07/12/2025 - 19:00

SAVE $25 NOW: Over at Amazon, the Bissell Little Green Mini is on sale for $69.99. That's 26% off its retail price and savings of $25 (plus free shipping for Prime members).

You may have heard of the Bissell Little Green. The cult-favorite portable carpet and upholstery cleaner has repeatedly gone viral on TikTok, and it recently went on sale for just $82 as part of Amazon's Prime Day sale.

However, this famous cleaning machine now has a little sister: The adorable Little Green Mini. It has everything we love about the original but in a more compact size that's easier to tuck away in closets and cabinets.

Right now at Amazon, you can get the Little Green Mini for just $69.99, down from its retail price of $94.99. Over at the Bissell online store, this cleaning appliance is still listed at its full MSRP, and according to price tracker CamelCamelCamel, this device has never been priced lower than $69.99 before.

There's a simple reason the Little Green system is so popular: It really works. Its stain-fighting powers are legendary, and you can even use it to spruce up the upholstery in your car. Simply pick it up and carry it to the offending stain, then use the scrubbing brush to wipe away the mess for good. If you live in an apartment like I do, the smaller size makes this appliance much more practical.

Between all of our testers and reviewers at Mashable, we've put in a lot of time testing the best headphones and earbuds. From noise-cancelling to budget options to earbuds designed specifically for sleep, we want to recommend the best of the best.

So naturally, when sales like Amazon's Prime Day roll around, we closely track prices on all the models we've tested and loved (and those that are in our testing pipeline). And this year, Amazon has gone all-out in the audio category — and some of the top deals haven't ended yet. We've been shocked by how low prices are on wireless earbuds in particular. Case in point: you can still get Apple AirPods for $89.

Sony recently dropped the brand new XM6 headphones, and it's safe to say we're in love. But if you're not throwing heart emojis at the $450 price tag, you can score the XM5 headphones for just $296 at Walmart post-Prime Day. The Walmart Deals event is still going strong, and these headphones still have 95% of the same features as the new XM6 model. These noise-cancellers still impress in sound quality and active noise cancellation. Bonus: they have the same battery life as the much pricier XM6 headphones.

Mashable Deputy Editor Miller Kern reviewed the Sony XM5 headphones and gave them a Mashable Choice award. In her review, she wrote, "As someone who primarily listens to music through AirPods Pro, the noise cancellation on the Sony headphones is a game-changer. I found myself reaching for these headphones over my AirPods."

Prime Day 2025 is officially over, and with it, virtually all of Amazon's device deals. Kindles? Back at full price. Fire tablets, Echo speakers, Omni TVs? Yup, full price. But there is one exception: This 50% off deal on Amazon's 4K streaming stick.

So, if a new TV wasn't in your budget this Prime Day, then you still have time to score a deal on a Fire TV Stick. Your older TV doesn't need to be replaced in favor of a new, smart TV when you can completely transform it for just $25. As of July 12, the Fire TV Stick 4K is on sale for $24.99, the lowest it has been priced in 2025.

Forget Prime Day: My favorite Dyson stick vacuum is under $500 for Walmart Deals

Sat, 07/12/2025 - 18:01

SAVE $200: As of July 12, the Dyson V12 Detect Slim cordless vacuum is still on sale for $449.99 at Walmart's Prime Day competition sale, the unimaginatively named Walmart Deals event.

Opens in a new window Credit: Dyson Dyson V12 Detect Slim $449.99 at Walmart
$649.99 Save $200 Get Deal

Amazon's Prime Day 2025 event may be over, but there are still plenty of deals to shop at Walmart. In fact, that's where you'll find our favorite Dyson vacuum deal of the week so far — and it's still live for the post-Prime Day weekend.

So, we hope you didn't buy the Dyson V11 at Amazon for $399.99 this Prime Day. (If you did, you can always put Amazon's free return policy to the test.) Instead, I highly recommend spending $50 more and snagging the actual best Dyson deal of the moment: The Dyson V12 Detect Slim for $449.99 at Walmart's conveniently timed summer sale.

I really love this vacuum, and I test vacuums professionally, so you can trust me when I say it's worth the investment. I suggest the V12 Detect Slim to just about anyone who asks for a cordless vacuum recommendation because it's the cheapest Dyson vacuum with the green laser. If you're not yet a believer in Dyson's laser technology, I'm fully convinced that you will be the first time you shine it on a corner of your floor that looked debris-less otherwise. The laser highlights invisible hairs and tiny specks of dust that even the LED lights on other cordless vacuums I've tested miss.

SEE ALSO: My pick for best robot vacuum of 2025 gets its first-ever discount on Prime Day

Take the area around the litter box in my kitchen, for example. I use wheat or grass kitty litter (for sustainability reasons), which is tan and completely blends in with the hardwood. You can barely ever tell that there's tracked litter on the floor until you walk past it in bare feet.

Credit: Leah Stodart / Mashable

The most satisfying part is the visible proof that the V12 Detect Slim actually cleared the floor of debris. I even use it to see how well all of the robot vacuums I test are performing.

Even though the V11's suction power is ever so slightly stronger, there's much more to be said for such blatant direction to the spots in your home that aren't as clean as you thought they were. Plus, the V12 Detect Slim comes with two full-sized cleaning heads, while the V11's single Motor Bar cleaning head may not be as gentle on delicate hardwood or tile. Both offer around an hour of battery life on one charge and come with the mini motorized handheld attachment.

Again, this is your chance to grab my favorite Dyson cordless stick vacuum on sale for under $500. Head to Walmart and grab the Dyson V12 Detect Slim cordless vacuum while it's still in stock and on sale for the Walmart Deals event.

I found 19 Prime Day tech deals still live for the weekend: Save on Beats, Samsung, Microsoft, GoPro gadgets

Sat, 07/12/2025 - 17:41

Amazon's massive four-day Prime Day event is officially over, but if you're experiencing a little FOMO, don't worry. A handful of tech deals have survived the sale and are still live right now.

As Mashable's tech editor, I've been covering Prime Day and Black Friday events since 2019, and I know that the end of the sale doesn't always mean the end of the deals. I've been sifting through the aftermath to find the diamonds in the rough that are still available at their sale price.

The best Prime Day tech deals still live: Beats Pill x Kim Kardashian Bluetooth Speaker $97.95 (save $52) Get Deal Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K (newest model) $24.99 (save $25) Get Deal Top deal for AI nerds Nothing Ear (a) Wireless Earbuds with ChatGPT Integration $89 (save $20) Get Deal Top Memory Deal SanDisk 1TB Extreme Poratble SSD $82.09 (save $47.90) Get Deal Top Earbuds Deal Apple AirPods Pro 2 wireless earbuds $169.00 at Amazon Get Deal Top camera deal GoPro Hero13 Black action camera $304.99 (save $124.01 with Amazon credit) Get Deal Top deal for gamers SteelSeries Apex 5 Hybrid RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard $74.99 (save $25) Get Deal

In the wake of the shopping frenzy, I'm rounding up the best post-Prime Day deals on the coolest tech you can still grab at a discount. Here are the top savings I've hand-picked for your enjoyment.

The best Prime Day speaker deal: A Beats speaker Beats Pill x Kim Kardashian Bluetooth Speaker $99.99 at Amazon
$149.95 Save $49.96 Get Deal Why I love it

Hating on Kim Kardashian is so 2010-coded. The reality TV starlet has proven herself as an entrepreneur about 10 times over by now, and her collaboration with Beats has resulted in some fantastic products. Whether you keep up with the Kardashians or not, this is a killer water-resistant party speaker with a 24-hour battery life. Even though Prime Day is over, select colors are still on sale for just $97.95 — a solid 35% off the original price.

Pro tip: If you want the best possible price on this Beats speaker, you can get it for just $89.99 at the Mashable Shop, though you lose out on Prime shipping and returns.

The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K (newest model) $24.99 at Amazon
$49.99 Save $25.00 Get Deal Why I love it

The Fire TV Stick 4K is an easy and affordable way to upgrade any television, especially if your TV's built-in smart apps have gotten slow.

This newest model delivers a cinematic experience with support for vibrant 4K Ultra HD, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and immersive Dolby Atmos audio. It also supports WiFi 6, which ensures smooth streaming with less buffering, even when multiple devices are connected to your router. Finding something to watch is simpler thanks to the AI-powered search and Alexa Voice Remote; just press the remote's button and ask it to find movies by actor, plot, or even iconic quotes. For its lingering sale price of $24.99 (a full 50% off its list price) it's one of the best tech upgrades you can make.

A next-gen VR headset Meta Quest 3S (128GB) $250 at Amazon
$299.99 Save $49.99 Get Deal Why I love it

Meta isn't just a social media company anymore. They're also the brand behind the Meta smart glasses and this virtual reality headset, which is the only VR gaming system I'd actually recommend buying. And the latest-gen version of the Quest is on sale for $249.99 (only $0.99 more than it was yesterday).

Samsung's famous art TV, The Frame Samsung The Frame 55-inch QLED Art TV (2025) $999.99 at Best Buy
$1,499.99 Save $500 Get Deal Why I love it

As a tech editor, friends and family sometimes ask me what the best TV is, and my answer is always the same: The Frame. Now, I have some caveats. If you're a movie lover, sports fan, avid binge watcher, and especially if you're all of the above, then get a premium OLED TV (it's a toss-up between the 65-inch version of the Samsung S95F or the LG C5 OLED TVs). But for design nerds like myself, The Frame is something special.

It's not just the unique matte, anti-glare display. It's not just the Samsung art gallery, with thousands of classic and modern works of art to display on your TV. And it's not just the ultra-thin design. The combination of all these innovations makes The Frame more than the sum of its parts. When it's not in use, this cult-favorite art TV enhances your home decor, instead of becoming a design dead zone.

Even though Prime Day has ended, one of the most popular TV deals is still available. Right now, you can get the 55-inch Frame TV for just $897.99 at Amazon and Best Buy.

A smartphone gimbal for creators DJI Osmo Mobile 7P Gimbal Stabilizer $125 at Amazon
$149 Save $24 Get Deal Why I love it

I've been testing smartphone gimbals over the past few months, and the newly released DJI Osmo Mobile 7P is the best one I've tested. It's impressed me with its ease of use, responsive tracking, and durability. It's also a big conversation starter, in my experience. For more deals like this, check out our guide to the top creator-approved gadgets.

Beats wireless headphones and earbuds The best Beats deals: Beats Solo 4 wireless headphones $97.99 (save $101.96) Get Deal Active Noise Cancellation Beats Studio Pro noise-cancelling headphones $169.95 (save $180.04) Get Deal Lowest-ever price Beats Studio Buds + $89.95 (save $80) Get Deal Why I love it

While Prime Day is often the best time of year to buy new headphones (outside of Black Friday, perhaps), you don't have to miss out just because the main event is over. We've found that some of the top deals from Beats are still active, including record-low prices on their latest noise-cancelling models and popular skin-tone products.

A mechanical keyboard with an OLED display SteelSeries Apex 5 Hybrid RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard $74.99 at Amazon
$99.99 Save $25 Get Deal Why I love it

This deal isn't quite as low as it was during the Prime Day peak yesterday, but it's still an incredible value. How many keyboards have an OLED smart display that you can customize with gifs and game info? The Apex 5 also features unique hybrid mechanical switches that give you a satisfying tactile click, a durable aircraft-grade aluminum alloy frame , and a premium magnetic wrist rest. For a keyboard with this many features to have a list price of just under $100 is bananas. And even though Prime Day's over, you can still grab it for just $74.99, which is a solid 25% off.

Our favorite Windows laptop Opens in a new window Credit: Microsoft Microsoft Surface Laptop 7, 13-inch (Snapdragon X Plus, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD) $799.99 at Amazon

While this Surface Laptop saw a steeper discount during the main event, it's still available for $100 off its list price. This spring, Microsoft released this more compact version of its flagship laptop, and it's one of the first new Copilot+ PCs, which are being called the "fastest, most intelligent Windows PCs ever." The base configuration comes with a powerful Snapdragon X Plus processor, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of SSD storage. It's incredibly fast, lightweight at just 2.7 pounds, and boasts an impressive all-day battery life. For $799.99 ($100 off the list price), you're getting a brand new, AI-powered laptop that's built for the future.

Here's a cool $10 phone hack: This Anker portable card reader can charge your iPhone while you transfer files to your phone. If you're taking pictures, using a drone, or filming videos on the go, it's a clever piece of hardware. The flat cable connects to your USB-C port while the card reader connects via MagSafe. You can insert both regular SD cards and microSD cards.

My personal hard drive SanDisk 1TB Extreme Poratble SSD $77.99 at Amazon
$129.99 Save $52.00 Get Deal Why I love it

Portable hard drives are far from the sexiest purchase, but as any savvy shopper knows, the deals don't always disappear when Prime Day ends. While the price on this SanDisk drive isn't quite as low as its Prime Day peak, it's still a great deal.

This is the exact drive you'll find in my backpack. I like SanDisk's drives for their ease of use and compact size, and I find 1 or 2TB is generally enough space for temporarily storing photos and videos for work.

Right now, the 1TB model is still on sale for $82.09. That's 37% off its $129.99 list price, making it a great time to grab some reliable, high-speed storage.

Here at Mashable, we've been covering this deal for weeks. Yes, that means this isn't a Prime Day exclusive, but if you're looking for the best possible deal on a MacBook, this one's hard to pass up. Today, you can grab the newest MacBook Air, equipped with the M4 chip, in all four colorways for just $849. For students, professionals, and Apple lovers, that's an incredibly attractive offer, especially considering this laptop was just released a few months ago. As we said in our review, it's "a really good deal" — and that was before it went on sale.

I've tested a lot of robot vacuums. Too many, in fact. Roborock's bots have consistently impressed me, and while Prime Day is now over, some of the brand's best deals are surprisingly still live.

If you really want to splurge, go for the slick Roborock Saros 10R Robot Vacuum and Mop. As my colleague Leah Stodart said in her review, its advanced cleaning abilities give it "an edge over many other premium vacs." Of course, I know that a nearly $1,300 robot vacuum probably isn't in your budget.

Don't worry — I have a backup option. The Roborock Q7 M5+ Robot Vacuum and Mop is a best-selling hybrid vacuum at Amazon, and its 42% price drop is still active post-Prime Day. For under $300, you'll get excellent pet hair pickup, strong suction, mopping, and self-emptying.

An A+ Samsung tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ Tablet $159.99 at Best Buy
$219.99 Save $60 Get Deal Why I love it

We were excited when Samsung's A9+ tablet first went on sale, even though Prime Day is over, it's still available for a great price. Now, you can definitely find more souped-up tablets, but personally, I don't want a tablet that can double as a laptop. I want a tablet I can use for binge-watching TV in bed or playing The Sims on the couch.

This everyday Android tablet fits the bill perfectly. It's got a crisp 11-inch display and quad speakers with Dolby Atmos that are great for streaming. It has enough power for browsing and gaming, but not so much that you'll be tempted to get work done. For $139.99, which is still $80 off its list price, it's a fantastic value for a dedicated entertainment device.

The security camera that pans and tilts Wyze Cam Pan & Tilt v3 Indoor/Outdoor Security Camera $28.48 at Amazon
$39.98 Save $11.50 Get Deal Why I love it

It's hard to find a good security camera for under $30, and it's nearly impossible to find one that can pan and tilt. That's what makes this lingering post-Prime Day deal on the WYZE Cam Pan v3 so impressive. While a static camera can get the job done, the ability to remotely control this one to get a 360-degree view of a room is a huge advantage. It also has features you'd expect on more expensive cameras, like automatic motion tracking, IP65 weather-resistance for outdoor use, and even color night vision. For just $28.48 (29% off the list price), you're getting a ton of functionality for the money.

The must-have Apple buds Apple AirPods Pro 2 $169 at Amazon

During Prime Day, we were hoping to see the AirPods Pro 2 drop back down to their previous record-low price of $159, but Amazon came through with a new record price of just $149. And in a rare post-sale surprise, that deal is still live. We're hoping to see AirPods Pro 3 later this year, but if you need new earbuds and you need them now, you won't find these famous pods at a better price.

You can still grab this curved, 32-inch QHD gaming monitor for just $199.99, a much more reasonable investment for gamers. For that price, you're getting serious gaming specs: a 165Hz refresh rate, a 1ms response time to eliminate lag, and AMD FreeSync to prevent screen tearing.

A pocket-sized Bluetooth dongle Twelve South AirFly Pro $54.99 at Amazon

Senior Reporter Haley Henschel traveled from Chicago to London with the Twelve South AirFly Pro, and said she'll never fly without it again. Wireless headphones and earbuds are wildly more popular than wired ones, but in-flight entertainment often requires you to plug in if you want to enjoy audio. So, that's where the AirFly Pro comes in.

The dongle plugs into the plane's audio jack and connects to your wireless headphones via Bluetooth, allowing you to watch in-flight movies with your favorite pair of headphones or earbuds. You can even listen with a friend, as the Pro version supports dual listening mode. While the price has fluctuated since Prime Day ended, it's still on sale for $47.24.

On top of that, these earbuds have 45 decibels of active noise cancellation, dual pairing, and a design that's somehow both retro and futuristic at the same time. The price on these has bounced around a bit since Prime Day, but you can still grab them for $89, which is a solid $20 off the list price.

Okay, folks, this is it. Amazon's mega sale ended on Friday, July 11 at midnight (PT), and with it some truly epic Prime Day AirPods deals for the ages. Oh, AirPods Max headphones for $399 — we hardly knew ye. However, if you're looking for Apple's wireless earbuds, then we have good news: The best AirPods deals are still live as of this writing, but we don't know for how much longer.

Amazon did not mess around for Prime Day 2025, delivering record-low prices on the entire lineup of AirPods. The new AirPods 4 earbuds dropped to a historic $89, somehow. The AirPods Pro 2 fell to $149. And Beats, the AirPods' cool little sibling, also went on sale (FYI, Beats deals are still going strong for the post-Prime Day weekend).

This year, AirPods topped our list of the best Prime Day deals of 2025, and they appeared twice on our list of best-selling products.

So, you have one last chance to score these Prime Day AirPods deals, plus select offers on Beats noise-cancelling headphones and earbuds. You can also check out our guide to the best headphones deals still live after Prime Day 2025.

We used to get excited when these buds went on sale for $159, but Amazon knocked an extra $10 off the sale price for Prime Day 2025, putting them down to $149. With this deal, the Pros are down to a record-low price. With excellent sound quality and active noise cancellation, these are a solid pair of earbuds to pick up, on sale or not.

Now, we are hoping to see new AirPods Pro 3 in the fall, but if you need new wireless earbuds and you need them now, we heartily recommend this deal.

Beats is an Apple brand, and the technology used in Beats headphones isn't too dissimilar from that of the AirPods. Both have that instant connectivity with iPhones and Macs that Apple fans won't live without, and sometimes, even the processors are identical. Beats just do it for several hundred dollars less — and they're great for clear sound on phone calls outside or on the go.

For a little while longer, you can grab the Beats Solo 4 wireless headphones on sale for under $100. While these on-ear headphones don't offer noise cancellation, we know some users prefer to stay in touch with their surroundings. These award-winning headphones have excellent sound and a mighty impressive 50-hour battery life. And if you do want active noise cancellation, you can still pick up the new Beats Studio Pro ANC headphones on sale for under $200.

While Amazon sales don't always live up to the hype, the mega-retailer went hard for its four-day-long Prime Day 2025 event. That was especially true for Apple loyalists, as we found tons of Apple products at or near record-low prices. If you missed shopping the sale, there's no need to have FOMO. Like usual, Amazon still has some lingering deals available for the post-Prime Day weekend, and that includes the majority of its best Apple deals.

So, even though Prime Day ended Friday, you can still get the AirPods 4 starting at just $89. You can also score the latest AirPods Pro for $149, and the popular Apple Watch Series 10 is still marked down to $279. (Sadly, the AirPods Max and Apple Watch Ultra 2 are no longer on sale.)

The Apple Watch Series 10 frequently gets discounted at Amazon, but it's never dipped to $279 before — this is a new record-low price, and it's still around post-Prime Day. It's an excellent deal on our favorite smartwatch fitness tracker, especially if you're already deep in the Apple ecosystem.

Though it's missing a blood oxygen sensor, it still works as a pedometer, heart rate monitor, sleep tracker, menstrual cycle tracker, and wrist temperature monitor, to name just a few of its functions. Its ultra-lightweight design doesn't sacrifice a larger display that makes reading all those metrics as easy as possible.

This was a can't-miss Prime Day AirPods deal and we're thrilled it's still around for the weekend crowd. Even with the many noise-cancelling earbuds options on the market, the AirPods Pro remain one of the best choices for folks in the Apple ecosystem. The quick pairing can't be beat, and they are a true plug-and-play option (especially because they don't come with a companion app). The noise cancelling is some of the best you'll find on earbuds, alongside its excellent audio. Mashable's Stan Schroeder gave these earbuds a 4.1/5 in his review, noting that he'd be likely to take them on a plane over over-ear headphones, and writing of their sound "[they] did an equally good job with complex jazz performances and very heavy guitar tunes."

Sure, you can still grab the affordable iPad Mini on sale, but do you really want to argue with a $279 iPad? We didn't think so. While the newest Apple tablets are trying really hard to be laptops, we prefer our tablets to be, well, tablets. The base-model iPad has a sizable 11-inch screen, and it's the ideal choice if you use your tablet for streaming, gaming, and browsing the web.

Even at full price, the M4 MacBook Air is an impressively good value, especially considering its brand. For anyone who doesn't need the heavier specs of the Pro (and the additional literal weight that comes along with that), the Air is a great machine. It can handle audio work and some video editing, most college schoolwork, and general day-to-day tasks with ease.

The base 13-inch Air with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is $150 even after Prime Day, bringing it to just $849. We saw it hit a record-low price of $829 in late June, but this is still a great deal to pick up.

In the headphones category, we can't resist this $70 discount on the new Powerbeats Pro 2 wireless earbuds that's still live after Prime Day. Sat, 07/12/2025 - 16:29

Prime Day 2025 is almost over. This year, instead of 48 hours of non-stop shopping action, Prime members had 96 hours to smash that "Add To Cart" button and put Amazon's free return policy to the test. By day three of the sale, it felt like Prime Day would never end, yet here we are.

Prime Day 2025 ended at midnight (PT) on Friday, July 11, but some of the top deals are still live. We've updated our guide to the best Prime Day deals with last-chance offers, and we're still tracking prices on the top products.

So, what deals are still live during the post-Prime Day weekend? As of this writing, you can still buy Apple AirPods 4 for just $89, or upgrade to the AirPods Pro 2 for $149 — both record prices. Beats headphones and earbuds are also holding steady at best-ever prices. We're also seeing lower prices on Eufy robot vacuums, plus lingering deals on Ninja appliances, 65-inch TVs from Hisense, select Yeti coolers and water bottles, and popular new gadgets from Sony and Samsung. The 3 best gaming laptops with Nvidia GPUs in 2025, so far

Sat, 07/12/2025 - 11:34

We’ve seen some top-notch laptops debut in 2025 so far, with AI-powered processors that extend battery life without sacrificing performance and sharp display technology that’s slowly becoming more affordable. In the gaming laptop world, specifically, we’re spying new 50-series GPUs that show off incredible power and still-capable 40-series GPUs with healthy discounts.

Multiple 2025 gaming laptops have been launched already this year, but we want to highlight three particular models that impressed us more than the others. These three portable powerhouses are easily the best gaming laptops with Nvidia GPUs this year — at least for the time being.

Right before the holidays, around October and November, we expect to see more 2025 models of fan-favorite gaming laptops launch. When they do, we’ll stack them up against the three gaming laptops we’ve awarded winning titles to here in mid-2025 and see how they compare.

Best overall: Razer Blade 16 Credit: Joe Maldonado / Mashable

Our sister publication, PCMag, had plenty of positive things to say about the new 2025 Razer Blade 16, the gaming laptop we think shines brightest so far this year. PCMag’s Matthew Buzzi says, “With the 2025 Blade 16, Razer proves once again that it can deliver powerhouse performance and stunning design in one sleek, high-priced package.”

At its steep starting price of $2,399, the new Blade 16 features an AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 CPU, 16GB of RAM, an Nvidia RTX 5060 GPU, and 1TB of SSD storage. Doubling the RAM and storage and upgrading to a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU and an RTX 5090 GPU bumps the price up to a whopping $4,499.

We never said this was a cheap gaming laptop, but it’s definitely one of the best gaming laptops with an Nvidia GPU you can shop right now. Having “crowned the RTX 5090 the new fastest mobile GPU (as you’d expect),” it’s no surprise that PCMag’s 5090-powered Blade 16 thoroughly impressed in all its performance tests, from daily productivity use to intense gaming benchmarks.

Despite incredible performance capabilities, Razer’s new Blade 16 isn’t slacking in the battery department. Most gaming laptops don’t last too long on video rundown tests, simply because their internals demand too much power. However, the $4,499 configuration PCMag used in its video rundown test lasted a whopping 10 hours and 12 minutes, nearly three hours longer than its predecessor.

Considering this laptop’s internals and its gorgeous 16-inch, 2560 x 1600-pixel OLED display, that’s a jaw-dropping battery life result. With a 10+ hour battery life and a “svelte, premium metal build” that’s luxurious and not overly flashy like many gaming rigs, the Razer Blade 16 is a well-rounded laptop that you can easily bring to work or class during the day and shuffle home to play games at high settings to relax at night.

If you’re trying to get the best bang for your buck with your next gaming laptop, the Acer Predator Helios 16 is the one to get. In my Predator Helios 16 review, I said it was “equipped with internals that’ll keep you sailing smoothly through heavy gaming pressure and everyday tasks” — all at a worthy price.

Inside, our review unit featured an Intel Core i9 14900HX as the brains of the whole operation, an RTX 4080 GPU that handles AAA games beautifully, and a plentiful 32GB of RAM and 2TB of SSD storage — all for just $2,299 at the time of review. It doesn’t look like you can buy our exact review unit anymore, but you can snag even better next-gen value with a 50-series Nvidia GPU.

For just $1,549 at full price, the Predator Helios Neo 16S AI features half the RAM and storage of our review unit at 16GB and 1TB, respectively, but upgrades the processor to Intel’s latest Core Ultra 9 275HX and swaps in a more powerful Nvidia RTX 5060 graphics card. Its 16-inch, 2560 x 1600-pixel, 240Hz display we loved in our review is also getting a gorgeous OLED upgrade, which means it’ll deliver richer contrast and more vibrant colors.

This newer configuration even ditches the “strong gamer aesthetic” we noted in our review, making it a more inconspicuous rig to bring along to work or class. With an AI-powered processor, we’re also hopeful this means it’ll have better battery life than our review model.

Technically, our HP Omen 17 review unit launched in 2024, but the latest 2025 model looks just as sleek, with a minimalist chassis that’ll have you guessing whether it’s a gaming laptop or not. The 2025 HP Omen 17 keeps the same beautiful, matte black chassis with a simple Omen logo on the top lid, while upgrading the internals to keep up with modern AAA games.

Like our review unit, this 2025 Omen 17 configuration comes with 1TB of SSD storage and 32GB of RAM, perfect for those who love to have multiple apps open in the background while gaming or for tab-hoarding research enthusiasts. It also shares the same sharp 17.3-inch, 2560 x 1440-pixel display with a buttery smooth 240Hz refresh rate we loved on the 2024 model.

The HP Omen 17 proved to be an incredible performer, whether tackling basic productivity tasks or fighting terminids in Helldivers 2 at high settings — and that configuration only had an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS processor and an RTX 4070 graphics card.

This updated 2025 model features an even more powerful AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 CPU and one of Nvidia’s new RTX 5070 GPUs, first announced at CES 2025. Despite more powerful internals, it’s only $200 pricier than the 2024 HP Omen 17 at full price.

In short, the HP Omen 17 is our top pick for anyone wanting a powerful gaming laptop that can double as an inconspicuous laptop for school or work. You can certainly play around with customized RGB lighting if you want, or keep things plain and simple.

Murderbot finale: David Dastmalchian breaks down Gurathin and Murderbots heartbreaking goodbye

Sat, 07/12/2025 - 11:00

For David Dastmalchian (Life of Chuck, Late Night with the Devil), filming Apple TV+'s sci-fi series Murderbot was "an incredibly emotional experience."

SEE ALSO: Does the 'Murderbot' cast relate to Murderbot?

Dastmalchian plays Dr. Gurathin, an augmented human and a member of the PresAux survey group. Unlike the rest of the very loving, very open group, Gurathin is more cagey, as well as immediately distrustful of security android Murderbot (Alexander Skarsgård). As the show reveals, Gurathin's lack of trust and more loner status stems from his mistreatment at the hands of Murderbot's nefarious Company, who coerced him into substance addiction during his time working for them.

"Gurathin is, similar to me, a person who has struggled and wrestled with both addiction, as well as a compulsive disorder in which control is an addiction all in its own," Dastmalchian told Mashable in an interview for an upcoming episode of Mashable's Say More. "So Gurathin is a person who maintains his own security and safety by keeping the people he loves very close and trying to control the things around him as much as he possibly can."

That control manifests itself especially in Season 1's first few episodes, which sees Gurathin prodding at Murderbot and trying to figure out what is "off" about it. However, by the season's end, Gurathin has grown to love Murderbot just as much as his PresAux compatriots, so much so that when he finds out the Company has wiped Murderbot's memories, he finds a workaround to download them all himself, then pass them back onto Murderbot.

SEE ALSO: Will there be a 'Murderbot' Season 2? Here's what we know.

From there, PresAux head Dr. Mensah (Noma Dumezweni) buys out Murderbot's contract, hoping to bring it back to the utopic Preservation Alliance, where it will have free will. However, Murderbot decides it wants to make its own decisions, and it jets off into space by itself.

The last person it sees before it heads out is Gurathin, who tells Murderbot he's ready to show it around Preservation, and that he understands, to a certain extent, what that transition might entail, as someone tied to the Company now being given free agency.

However, Murderbot interrupts, eyes watering. "I need to check the perimeter," it says.

It's a phrase ripped right from Murderbot's role as a SecUnit, but it hides a deeper meaning: Murderbot needs to strike out on its own.

Gurathin understands, echoing the words back: "You need to check the perimeter."

It's a quiet yet heart-wrenching scene, as well as the culmination of Gurathin and Murderbot's journey from adversaries to beings who finally understand one another. According to Dastmalchian, the scene also spoke to his relationship with the Murderbot cast and crew, including Skarsgård.

"The family that I'd grown to love in making the show, including my castmates and the creators and all the crew, we were very close," Dastmalchian said. "And it was odd, in a way, that makes you feel both that there is a beautiful, golden thread that connects the universe and also can make you feel a little crazy sometimes, when you're like, 'Wow, these words are more personally significant than I could have ever imagined.'"

He continued: "When we reach that moment where [Gurathin] is saying... 'I just broke through a level of understanding about you, and now I have to let you go,' it's hard. It's a part of the human experience that many of us experience, either through death or through the end of things. Relationships end. Sometimes people have to go away, sometimes for themselves, and that kind of acceptance hit me in the moment, while I'm performing as a fictional character in a TV series based on a book series. I was sitting there doing the scene with Alex, and he's such a phenomenal actor, and he's so, so present, even when portraying a construct, it was very emotional."

As emotional as the scene is, both for viewers and the actors performing it, it is thankfully not the end of the road for Murderbot and Gurathin. On July 10, Apple TV+ announced that Murderbot has been renewed for a second season. While Gurathin doesn't show up in the second installment of Martha Wells's The Murderbot Diaries, he does return further down the line, meaning there could be a reunion between Murderbot, Gurathin, and all of PresAux in the future.

Murderbot is now streaming on Apple TV+.
