Windows Live Writer... for your code library
Though WLW is not cross-platform, it is one good "free" software from MS. And if you ever want to blog or share info, this application allows you to post any content type to most blogs.
A friend of mine has been looking at a few solutions to centralize and share his code w/ his team. Out of the box, WLW supports quite a few blogging solutions. Of course the first and preferred options are Windows Live Space or Sharepoint, but it does support quite a few more. Including the leading Free and Open Source ones (drupal, wordpress, etc.).
However, what you might not know is that WLW is quite extensible by the use of plug-ins.
With that in mind, there exists a vast amount of them available that will enhance your blogging experience and make your life easier.
