The best Black Friday TV deals in 2024: Best Buy, Walmart beating Amazon...by a lot

Fri, 11/29/2024 - 19:17

UPDATE: Nov. 29, 2024, 1:15 p.m. EST This post has been updated with the latest pricing on the best TV deals live during the first half of Black Friday itself, including new deals on Samsung The Frame dupes like the TCL NXTFRAME.

The best early Black Friday TV deals Best 55-inch deal Hisense 55-inch QD5 QLED TV $219.99 at Best Buy (save $180) Get Deal Best 65-inch TV deal LG 65-inch B3 Series OLED 4K TV $998 at Walmart (save $301) Get Deal Best 75-inch TV deal LG 75-inch 85 Series QNED TV $999.99 at Best Buy (save $500) Get Deal Best 85-inch TV deal Hisense 85-inch QD6 QLED 4K TV $649.99 (save $450 at Best Buy) Get Deal

As one of the OG items being stampeded after in those old Black Friday clips you're picturing right now, we've known for most of our adult lives that Black Friday is one of the best times of year to buy a TV.

The types of TVs spotlighted in the pre-holiday sale have shifted, however. The biggest factor when upgrading your TV this year will probably be the normalization — and subsequently, affordability — of QLED. Over the past few years, QLED TVs have officially gone from "the TV that only the fanciest people you know have" to actually accessible for the average household. Finding a 55-inch QLED under $300 or a 65-inch QLED under $500 during an event like Black Friday isn't hard at all. There are even dupes of iconic TVs like Samsung's The Frame now — TCL and Hisense both have budget-friendly art TV options for several hundred dollars less than The Frame in most sizes.

SEE ALSO: Get both Hulu and Disney+ for $2.99 per month for Black Friday

At any rate, the "best" TV deal for one household won't be the "best" TV deal for another. Rather than jumping between a mess of tabs of every store's TV doorbusters, knowing which type of TVs each big retailer tends to focus on is a way smarter strategy going in.

Are TV deals better at Amazon, Best Buy, or Walmart?

In my experience, Best Buy focuses on large screens and has a bigger selection of the premium QLED and OLED models from Samsung, Sony, and LG on sale. Amazon gears its TV discounts more toward 43-inch to 65-inch Fire TVs, especially its in-house models. Walmart is known for a more concise list of doorbusters that are often simply the cheapest 4K TV possible in a certain size, specifically options in the 50- to 75-inch range that are more likely to sell out than TVs at other retailers. However, there's been a bit of a plot twist with cheap 43-inch to 65-inch QLEDs this year — Best Buy is kind of stealing Walmart's spotlight on that one.

The TV wheelhouses of these retailers don't completely bar any overlap between TV deals, though. A handful of popular models with big name recognition (again, The Frame) are seeing price matches across multiple retailers, but we'll keep you posted if one retailer is able to undercut the others on one of these heavy hitters.

SEE ALSO: The best Black Friday Apple deals in 2024 — these record-low prices are live

I've been tracking early Black Friday TV deals since the beginning of November and have watched retailers amp discounts even further in the days right before actual Black Friday — a ton of models are back to their October Prime Day price or beating it completely. The list below will be refreshed regularly as Black Friday rolls into talk of early Cyber Monday deals over the weekend, and it is possible that some surprise new deals will drop.

All newly added or updated deals have been marked with a ✨, while struck-through deals were either sold out or expired at the time of writing.

One more thing: If you're getting rid of an old TV to make room for this Black Friday purchase, take it somewhere that recycles old electronics (like Best Buy) rather than trashing it.

Best Black Friday TV deal Opens in a new window Credit: Hisense Hisense 55-inch QD5 QLED 4K Google TV $219.99
$399.99 Save $180.00 Get Deal Why we like it

Remember when I said QLEDs are becoming way more accessible for the average household? At $219.99, this 55-inch QLED is hovering around the same price point that many regular, dull LED TVs were a few years ago. Now, I can see this 55-inch Hisense QLED being baby's first adult TV purchase for a ton of people. (Note: Best Buy has dropped this price by an extra $30 since this TV first went on sale a few weeks before Black Friday.)

The difference between those two cheap TVs is that the "Q" in QLED stands for quantum dots, which form a layer of extra light over the traditional LED panel to pump more saturated colors through the screen. QLED TVs are also significantly brighter than regular LED TVs, making them ideal for watching sports, especially in the daytime.

The best Black Friday laptop deals across retailers — M3 MacBook Air, Microsoft Surface Laptop 7, and more

Fri, 11/29/2024 - 18:36

UPDATE: Nov. 29, 2024, 11:45 a.m. EST This story has been updated to reflect the kickoff of Black Friday, as well as the latest pricing details on laptops across retailers.

The best Black Friday laptop deals at a glance: Best MacBook deal Apple MacBook Air, 13-inch (M3, 16GB RAM, 256GB) $844 (save $255) Get Deal Best Windows laptop deal Microsoft Surface Laptop 7, 13-inch (Snapdragon X Elite, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD) $1,499.99 (save $500) Get Deal Best gaming laptop deal Alienware m16 R2 (Intel Core Ultra 7 155H, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD) $1,299.99 (save $600) Get Deal Best Chromebook deal Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus (Intel Core 3 100U, 8GB RAM, 256GB UFS) $599.99 (save $100) Get Deal

Black Friday is the absolute best time for finding good deals on laptops. (I would know: I've tracked them for Mashable since 2019.) And with retailers taking full advantage of the holiday's abnormally late timing this year, steep savings have been abundant all month long.

With Black Friday proper now upon us, the competition is especially intense — like, way more intense than previous years have felt. Amazon somehow managed to pull off the best MacBook and Windows laptop deals by not-small margins, while Best Buy is winning the battle for the top gaming laptop and Chromebook discounts of the holiday season thus far. I'm seeing lots of new and year-round lows between the two of them.

If neither retailer is discounting models with the specific specs you want, other Black Friday sales at Dell, HP, Lenovo, LG, Microsoft, Razer, and Samsung have ushered in discounts as high as $900 across their lineups.

SEE ALSO: The best early Black Friday deals at Amazon, Target, Best Buy, and Walmart

As a brief aside, the Apple Store's usual Black Friday gift card offer is now live through Dec. 2; M2 and M3 MacBooks come with free vouchers worth up to $200. That doesn't beat any of the dollars-off discounts available elsewhere, but it could be a practical option for those enmeshed in the Apple ecosystem.

Read on for a closer look at the best Black Friday laptop deals live across the web. Bookmark this page and check back often, as we'll be updating the list continuously as Cyber Week continues.

Note: All newly added or updated deals have been marked with a , while struck-through deals were either sold out or expired at the time of writing.

Read Mashable's full review of the M3 Apple MacBook Air.

Mashable Tech Editor Kim Gedeon was impressed by the M3 Air's peppy performance, satisfying keyboard, vivid webcam, and dual-display support (if you close its lid), rating it a 4.3/5. It may not look all that different from its older M-series predecessors — there is a new midnight finish option — but we think it's the best MacBook for most people, especially now that Apple's bumped its base RAM from 8GB to 16GB.

The starting configuration with 256GB of storage is on sale on Amazon for only $844, which is 23% off its $1,099 MSRP, an all-time low, and $5 better than Best Buy's Black Friday deal on the exact same MacBook. This also puts less than $100 between it and the M2 Air, so opting for the current-gen model over the cheapest model out there feels like an easier, more obvious choice.

Microsoft's Copilot+ PC has an even longer battery life than the new M4 MacBook Pros — it lasted nearly 23 hours in our testing — and it comes with AI features that "make Windows fun again," Gedeon wrote. She gave it a 4.8/5; it's a Mashable Choice Award winner and our current favorite Windows laptop for most people, barring any ARM-related app compatibility issues.

The upgraded configuration that Gedeon tested is a 13-inch model featuring a Snapdragon X Elite processor, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of SSD storage. It usually retails for $1,999.99, and Amazon had it listed for $1,549.99 earlier in its Black Friday Week sale (with the Microsoft Store matching it). But now it's down to just $1,499.99 there. That's a 25% savings and its biggest discount ever.

Amazon doesn't offer price matching if you bought the Surface Laptop 7 at a previous sale price, but you do have the option of returning it and rebuying it. The retailer's extended holiday return policy applies to most purchases made between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31.

This premium 16-incher is the best gaming laptop we tried in 2024 (and another Mashable Choice Award winner), earning a score of 4.5/5 from Gedeon. She was impressed by its ample mid-range power, its "springy" keyboard, and its solid build quality, as well as its "seamless" support of Nvidia's Advanced Optimus feature. That lets it switch between its discrete and integrated GPUs "to handle both play and work," she wrote.

Our testing configuration featured an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H CPU, GeForce RTX 4070 graphics, 16GB of memory, and a terabyte of storage. It's down to $1,299.99 at Best Buy this Black Friday, which is $600 off its usual list price there and a record-low.

Another model with a slightly better processor and a slightly worse GPU is on sale for the same price on Dell's website, FYI; it's typically $1,699.99 there.

Announced in October, this 15.6-inch Samsung Galaxy machine is the thinnest, lightest Chromebook Plus model on the market and the only one with an AMOLED display. (Translation: It's super vibrant.) Good Nintendo Switch deals are pretty hard to come by. But Black Friday changes people, and this year, the iconic gaming company is actually offering up some competitive, worthwhile deals from store to store. Now that this year's sale is officially on, there's a slew of great deals on the console itself as well as games to play on it to take advantage of now.

And you know what? We'd have a hard time making a case against that. In other words, it's a must-play, and now is the best time to buy a copy if you haven't experienced it yet — for Black Friday, Walmart has Tears of the Kingdom listed at just $30, down from $69. That's the best deal we've seen on this game yet, so don't hesitate to lock in your purchase.

I’ve spent years testing gadgets, and these 5 Black Friday deals are worth every penny: Oura Ring, AirPods, and more

Fri, 11/29/2024 - 18:25

I've been covering Black Friday sales for nearly five years, and more importantly, I'm a tech journalist who's been passionately testing gadgets during the same time frame. As such, I bring expertise on two fronts: I know Black Friday like the back of my hand, and I’ve personally tested the products I’m recommending in this roundup.

I’ll also include links to our reviews for each product, so you can see for yourself that we at Mashable have had extensive hands-on experience with the gadgets we’re recommending.

Here’s something you should know about my ethos: I’d never recommend a product to readers that I wouldn’t personally buy for myself or a friend.

That being said, let's get into the Black Friday tech deals I'd recommend in a heartbeat.

Best Black Friday tech deals 2024

No piece of tech is perfect. While I’ll explain why I recommend the gadgets on this list, I’ll also point out any potential drawbacks that might give you pause. It’s always better to make an informed decision before committing to a purchase.

1. Oura Ring 3

Before testing the Oura Ring, I thought it was just going to be a less sophisticated version of a smartwatch. I didn't think that for one second that I'd opt for the Oura Ring over the Apple Watch, but my experience with it has blown me away. (Mostly because it lasts so much longer on a charge compared to my Apple Watch Series 9.)

The Oura Ring 3 next to Mashable's Chris Taylor's wedding ring. Credit: Chris Taylor / Mashale

I've tested the Oura Ring 4, and while it comes with cool upgrades, it's not that different from the Oura Ring 3. For example, the Oura Ring 4 doesn't bring any new sensors to the table (but Oura claims that the Ring 4's sensors are more accurate than ever.)

Both the Oura Ring 3 and Oura Ring 4 tracks the following: heart rate, sleep, blood-oxygen levels, cardiovascular age, cardio capacity, daytime stress, body clock and chronotype, and more.

Credit: Kimberly Gedeon / Mashable

Pros:

  • Its battery life is incredibly long; Oura claims it can deliver about 7 days of battery life, which is accurate.

  • Its AI advisor, available in the companion app, is a beta service that launched alongside Oura Ring 4. Many health trackers give you tons of data, but it's difficult to make sense of it. With the ChatGPT-like AI advisor, you can ask it questions like, "What does my data say about my sleeping habits and how can I improve my rest?"

  • The gold option is stunning, and I get compliments on it all the time.

  • You'll get a sizing kit upon purchase, so you don't have to worry about getting the wrong size.

Cons:

  • I've tested the Oura Ring on Android and iOS devices; I found that results and data took longer to populate on the former compared to the latter

  • I recommend the Oura Ring for iPhone users, but not Android owners

  • It requires a subscription fee of $6 month

See our full reviews of the Oura Ring 3 and Oura Ring 4.

If you have an Android phone, I recommend the Samsung Galaxy Ring.

If you own a Samsung device, even better. In pairing your Galaxy Ring to a Samsung phone, you get the full benefits of Galaxy AI.

Samsung Galaxy Ring's case Credit: Kimberly Gedeon / Mashable

Galaxy AI powers Energy Score, a calculation featured in the Galaxy Ring's companion app that looks at your sleep, physical activity, and heart rate. It also provides a short summary of your wellness.

Pros:

  • It has long battery life; it lasts about 7 hours on a single charge

  • It has the best charging case in the ring-wearable market; you can use it to give the Galaxy Ring an extra battery boost and it's excellent for travel

  • You don't need to purchase a subscription to use it

  • It pairs very well with Samsung phones; while wearing the Galaxy Ring, you can use the "double pinch" gesture, for example, to trigger the shutter button in the Camera app

Cons:

  • Not compatible with iOS

  • Only Samsung users get the full benefits of the Galaxy Ring

I've tested the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Series 10.

Apple Watch SE 2 Credit: Kimberly Gedeon / Mashable

Apple wants you to believe these two smartwatches are significantly better than the Watch SE 2. But as someone who has tested all three, the feature gap between the SE 2 and the Series 9 and 10 isn't that wide.

Me testing both the Apple Watch SE 2 and the Apple Watch Series 9 Credit: Kimberly Gedeon / Mashable

Pros:

  • The Apple Watch SE 2's battery life is just an hour or two shorter than the Apple Watch Series 9

  • Save for the absence of an always-on display and a larger screen, the display quality difference between the SE 2 and Watch Series 9 is imperceptible

  • Great for smaller wrists and for those who prefer a "dainty" look

Cons:

I can't tell you how underrated the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses are. I've owned the first iteration of these spectacles, called Ray-Ban Stories, and now, I own the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses. I purchased them with my own money and they're easily one of the best tech-gadget investments I've ever made.

Credit: Kimberly Gedeon / Mashable

The Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses look like a regular pair of shades, but they can play music, take calls, take pictures, and record videos.

Mashable Tech Editor Kimberly Gedeon testing the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses Credit: Kimberly Gedeon / Mashable

The Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses also come with Meta AI, which is Meta's answer to ChatGPT. As such, you can ask Meta AI questions just by speaking out loud. You can also ask it to do things for you like, "Hey Meta, call mom!"

Pros:

  • Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses are perfect for hands-free photos and videos

  • Stylish despite sporting advanced tech

  • Comfortable to wear

  • Supports calls, as well as photo and video capture

  • They can play music, and the audio quality is great

  • Many different styles to choose from

Cons:

  • Don't lose the case; it's difficult to repurchase one

  • Battery life could be better

If you have trouble with your AirPods falling out of your ears, the AirPods 4 is what you're looking for.

The AirPods 4 in its charging case Credit: Kimberly Gedeon / Mashable

Pros:

  • Apple changed the design of the fourth-generation AirPods 4 so that they now fit most ears

  • AirPods 4 (with ANC) do a good job of cancelling out noise, like conversations, the rush of traffic, etc.

  • You can use head gestures, like nodding or shaking your head "no," to accept or deny calls

  • Music sounds crisp and honeyed

Cons:

  • You can't increase nor decrease volume on the AirPods 4 itself via touch controls

I'd also recommend the AirPods Pro 2, which come with a slew of updates that the AirPods 4 do not support, including hearing test capabilities and doubling as high-tech earplugs for concerts.

Lego might be forever, but Black Friday comes only once per year — at least, sort of. This year, retailers were pushing Lego Black Friday deals so early that the first few waves have already dropped and sold out before Black Friday even hit. But that's far from the last of the Legos you'll see on sale this year — Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and more have already swapped in new deals that'll save you up to 40% on iconic collections from Star Wars or Harry Potter, the beloved floral collection, and more.

Whether you’re a collector treating yourself to a new set or you’re looking for a gift for a kid, right now is one of the best times to buy Lego all year round. Here are the best Black Friday Lego deals live as of Nov. 29.

The Office Lego Set may have sold out at Walmart within a day or so of dropping, but we still have another favorite Lego deal to highlight. Star Wars fans will get a huge kick out of the Lego Star Wars Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle. With a rotating cockpit, signature red wings, and four figurines including bounty hunter and Sith, this is an action-packed set. Walmart's nearly 28% discount drops this set to $45, beating Best Buy's price by $13.99 on the same model number.

Basically all the best robot vacuums are at new record-low pricing for Black Friday

Fri, 11/29/2024 - 17:47

UPDATE: Nov. 29, 2024, 12:00 p.m. EST This story has been updated with current pricing on robot vacuums on sale during the morning of Black Friday itself, plus a few new Shark, Roomba, and Roborock deals that have gotten slightly cheaper.

The best Black Friday robot vacuum deals at a glance Best non self-emptying deal Shark IQ Matrix 2-in-1 RV2402 $148 at Walmart (save $231.99) Get Deal Best budget self-emptying deal iRobot Roomba Combo i5+ $299 at Amazon (save $250.99) Get Deal Best premium deal Roborock Qrevo S $459.99 at Amazon (save $340) Get Deal

Yet another Black Friday is (somehow) here, with its arrival often bringing flashbacks to last year's frantic shopping — including the items that you didn't end up buying, and then wished you had all year. If a robot vacuum didn't make the cut last year, let Black Friday 2024 be the time to finally ditch your current clunky vacuum and treat yourself to a significantly shorter chore list.

Black Friday deals are making high-end vacs super accessible

The robot vacs getting attention deals-wise this Black Friday are packed with high-end features — ones you may have previously been fine to settle without just because, at full price, they're a really intimidating investment. I'm personally eyeing the number of options that bring home smart mapping and small obstacle avoidance (no more eaten phone chargers) and self-washing and drying mopping pads in the $500 to $700 range.

Considering the latter two features in that trio I just rattled off were once so newfangled that they were only available in the $1,000+ range, these sale prices are ones to hop on without hesitation. And FWIW, several robot vacuums are already beating their previous record-low pricing that we saw during October Prime Day — and unlike Prime Day, no membership is needed to access these deals, aside from a few random ones at Amazon.

SEE ALSO: I've tested over 20 robot vacuums and these are the best for every budget in 2024

Below, I'm tracking the best Black Friday robot vacuum deals live through Cyber weekend and into Cyber Monday. Though Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and Target have dropped all of their heavy hitters by Black Friday itself, it's not impossible for a few new robot vacs to go on sale as Cyber Week approaches — so if you can be patient, checking back later wouldn't be a bad idea.

Deals are organized into three sections: robot vacuums that don't mop, robot vacuum and mop combos, and vacuum and mop combos that also wash and dry their own mopping pads. Within each category, all robot vacuum deals are ordered by price from cheapest to most premium. (Need help deciding which robot vacuum to buy? I have some guidelines.)

Note: All newly added or updated deals have been marked with a ✨, while struck-through deals were either sold out or expired at the time of writing. Any deal marked with a 🔥 has dropped to a record-low price at Amazon.

Best Black Friday robot vacuum deal Opens in a new window Credit: iRobot iRobot Roomba Combo i5+ $299.00 at Amazon
$549.99 Save $250.99 Get Deal Why we like it

This nearly 50% off discount on the Roomba Combo j5+ is stellar at first glance, but it looks like an even sweeter deal when compared to the current deal on the cheapest self-emptying Roomba, the Roomba Vac 2. For $249.99, that bare-bones Roomba doesn't mop and can't smart map your house. For $299 — just $50 more — the Roomba Combo i5+ can mop and can smart map to clean specific rooms in your home on command. If $300 is your budget cap for a new robot vacuum, spending that extra $50 is a no-brainer.

The only downside to choosing the Combo i5+ over the more advanced Combo j5+ that was on sale last week is that the i series Roombas don't have small obstacle avoidance technology, so they can't dodge things on the floor like charging cords or pet waste. However, if your home is already pretty tidy as it is, or you're down to deal with tidying up ahead of vacuuming, the Combo i5+ is a total steal at this price.

The best Black Friday iPad deals live: Save over $100 on new models

Fri, 11/29/2024 - 17:44

UPDATE: Nov. 29, 2024, 10:00 a.m. EST This article has been updated to reflect the official start of Black Friday, as well as the latest pricing details on iPads.

The best Black Friday iPad deals at a glance: Best overall deal Apple iPad Air, 11-inch (M2, WiFi, 128GB) $499 (Save $100 at Best Buy) Get Deal Best budget iPad deal Apple iPad, 10.9-inch (10th generation, WiFi, 64GB) $259 (Save $90 at Amazon) Get Deal Best iPad mini deal Apple iPad mini, 8.3-inch (A15 Bionic, WiFi, 256GB) $499.99 (save $149.01) Get Deal Best iPad Pro deal Apple iPad Pro, 11-inch (M4, WiFi, 256GB) $849 (save $150 with on-page coupon) Get Deal

Black Friday is officially here, although deals have likely been flooding your inbox for weeks.

Apple deals, particularly on iPads, started rolling in once major retailers kicked off their official sales programming earlier this month. We've been seeing prices at or near record lows for days (weeks, even!), from the iPad Air at $100 off, the 10th generation iPad at $90 off, and the new iPad mini at $99 off (which is now sold out).

SEE ALSO: All the best early Black Friday deals at Amazon, Target, Best Buy, and Walmart

There aren't many significant price changes now that Black Friday is actually here. Aside from a $20 price drop on the 10th generation iPad with boosted storage, the iPad deals largely remain the same as the pre-Black Friday shopping event. Given that these prices are some of the best of the year, that's hardly a disappointment. These deals are good no matter which way you slice it.

We'll be keeping an eye out for any new deals to drop as Black Friday slowly morphs into Cyber Monday over the weekend. As for now, here are all the best iPad deals currently live.

Note: All newly added or updated deals have been marked with a ✨, while struck-through deals were either sold out or expired at the time of writing.

We consider the iPad Air the best Apple tablet for most people: it has the flexibility to be a good school companion, as it can be a laptop replacement or art tablet. The M2 chip also powers some older Pro models, but you'll be saving a few hundred bucks (especially with this iPad deal).

At $499, this iPad is just a dollar away from its record low pricing, making it an excellent time to pick it up ahead of the holidays. If you're looking to score the most savings possible, even if that means wading into the chaos of Black Friday, you might want to hold off — the Air initially dropped to this price about a week ago, so there is a chance that it drops even more come Black Friday. At the time of writing, this deal is available at Target, Best Buy, and Amazon, with the latter two having all four colors available.

TikTok owner ByteDance sues intern for $1.1 million in damages for ‘sabotaging’ AI project

Fri, 11/29/2024 - 17:22

TikTok parent company ByteDance is going after a former intern for allegedly sabotaging an AI training project.

According to The South China Morning Post, ByteDance is seeking 8 million yuan (about $1.1 million) in damages and a public apology from ex-intern Tian Keyu. The case, which has already been accepted by Haidian District Court in Beijing, centers around accusations of Tian tampering with code related to an AI training project. ByteDance also owns AI chatbot Doubao, which is the company's answer to OpenAI's ChatGPT.

SEE ALSO: TikTok execs know exactly how many videos it takes to get addicted to its platform

Tian was fired in August because he "maliciously interfered with the model training tasks," according to a statement from ByteDance. In the same statement, ByteDance disputes rumors that the tampering involved 8,000 GPU cards and lost the company tens of millions of dollars, saying those claims are "seriously exaggerated." The company also said Tian claimed to be a part of the AI Lab, but he was really part of a separate commercial technology team.

ByteDance has been busy with its AI-focused projects. It has introduced several features for TikTok including, AI-generated digital avatars and AI tools for advertising. It also reportedly has a powerful web crawler called Bytespider that's gobbling up content on the internet for LLM training.

Meanwhile, the TikTok ban deadline is coming up in January, making its future in the U.S. uncertain. That said, President-elect Donald Trump, who is now on TikTok, said he wants to overturn the ban.

The best Black Friday headphone and speaker deals in 2024 — AirPods Pro and Bose headphones at record-low prices

Fri, 11/29/2024 - 17:08

UPDATE: Nov. 25, 2024, 4:30 p.m. EST This post has been updated with the latest headphones and earbuds deals in the days leading up to Black Friday.

Best Black Friday headphone and speaker deals Best headphone deal Sony WH-1000XM4 $199.99 at Best Buy (Save $148.01) Get Deal Best earbuds deal Apple AirPods Pro (2nd gen) $153.99 at Amazon (Save $95.01) Get Deal Best Bluetooth speaker deal Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 4 $78.96 at Amazon (Save $21.03) Get Deal

Black Friday is finally here, and we're seeing headphones at record-low prices.

The start of Best Buy's Black Friday sale has brought the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones down to one of the lowest prices we've ever seen them at $199.99, while Walmart's sale brought the Apple AirPods Pro to record-low price at Walmart and Amazon (they love to stay competitive). Essentially, every major audio brand, including Bose, JBL, Sennheiser, and Beats has headphones and earbuds down at record-low prices.

SEE ALSO: The best Black Friday deals at Amazon, Target, Best Buy, and Walmart

Check out our top picks below for the best headphone and speaker deals below:

While these headphones hit the market back in 2020, they're still a decent option to pick up, especially if you're looking to spend no more than $200. While they do go on sale throughout the year, they typically drop about $100, making this nearly $150 especially good. Because they're older, they no longer have top-of-the-line noise-cancelling or sound quality, but they still more than get the job done. Plus, unlike the newer Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones, the XM4 ear cups fold in, potentially making them a better option for folks who travel frequently.

This is not a drill: The AirPods Pro are down to a brand-new record-low price this Black Friday. In October, Prime Day brought the popular Apple earbuds down to a record-low of $168.99, which dropped lower to $159 last week. With Walmart's second Black Friday kicking off on Nov. 25, the retailer dropped the price of these earbuds down to another new record-low of $154, which Amazon had to match. In other words, if you've been waiting to buy the AirPods Pro, this is a really good time to buy them.

The Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 4 is our favorite speaker under $100 at full price, so we think this deal is especially worth it. Despite its relatively compact size, this speaker reaches impressive volumes, can be taken pretty much anywhere you want to go thanks to its IP67 waterproof rating, and has 14 hours of battery life. That said, this isn't the first time we've seen this speaker drop down in price. Even shortly after its release this past June, it dropped down to $79.99.

Black Friday is always a treat for anyone shopping for new tech — and 2024 is no different. If a new phone is on your wishlist, 'tis the season to grab one. Samsung Galaxy phones, in particular, are popping off with Black Friday deals a day before the official shopping holiday begins. All of the best Galaxy phones, including the S24 Ultra and Z Fold 6 are seeing record-low prices. Yes, even better than Prime Day.

We've rounded up our top picks below for the best Samsung Galaxy phone deals and will update the list as any new ones roll in.

Best Samsung Galaxy phone deal Opens in a new window Credit: Samsung Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (256GB, Unlocked) $941.43 at Amazon
$1,299.99 Save $358.56 Get Deal Why we like it

Released in early 2024, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra was dubbed "the best Android phone" by Mashable Tech Editor Kim Gedeon. It's a close rival to the iPhone 15 Pro Max (maybe even better in certain categories) and packs a rear telephoto lens with outrageous zoom capabilities, a bunch of neat AI features, and a durable titanium design. And, of course, it comes with the S Pen stylus we know and love that doubles as a remote. Beating out its Prime Day price, the 256GB, unlocked version is down to just $941.43 at Amazon for Black Friday. That's a savings of 28% on the titanium gray model. If you prefer another shade, it'll cost you a few bucks more — most other colors are down to $949.99 at both Amazon and Best Buy.

Check out Mashable's full review of the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

$1,899.99 Save $510.01 Get Deal Why we like it

Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 6 made a big splash at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event over the summer. It's seen a few discounts since its debut, but none this big: for Black Friday, you can slash 27% off and get the 256GB model for only $1,389.98 (in select colors, pink and navy) instead of $1,899.99 at Amazon. The Z Fold 6 stuck to its original winning formula when it comes to the fundamentals — cameras, battery capacity, and memory. But a few tweaks and add-ons make this phone even better than the Z Fold 5 (which we already loved), including a thinner, wider, and brighter display with enhanced resolution, a boost in Snapdragon power, and a boat load of AI-powered tools from the Galaxy AI suite. Need more storage? The 512GB version is also on sale for $1,479.68 (down from $2,019.99).

After dropping oodles of early deals in the first few weeks of November, Best Buy officially kicked off its 2024 Black Friday sale on Thursday, Nov. 21. The event runs for 10 days on its website, mobile app, and in stores through Saturday, Nov. 30.

The electronics retailer is serving up two kinds of side dishes with its main course. First, its Black Friday deals are joined by revolving rounds of doorbusters that are up for grabs throughout the holiday season. New waves of them get listed on its website every Friday through Dec. 20, with first dibs the Thursdays prior for paid My Best Buy members (Plus and Total tiers).

The latest batch of doorbusters includes free $75 gift cards with the purchase of the Meta Quest 3 or the Xbox Series X (2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition); discounts of up to $400 on Apple's new M4 MacBook Pros; and a 65-inch 4K Roku TV that's only $299.99. The deals are now live for all shoppers.

Best Buy is also releasing rapid-fire "Flash Deals" as part of its Drops program this Black Friday. These offers are available in limited quantities for a short while exclusively on the Best Buy mobile app starting at 9 a.m. ET. Shoppers can preview them in the app or on the homepage of Best Buy's website — look out for the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Copper/Nickel Dyson Corrale.

The Mashable Shopping team is tracking and vetting Best Buy's Black Friday deals as its sale progresses, and you can check out our running list of the best offers below. Keep in mind that Best Buy offers a Holiday Price Match Guarantee, so if anything you buy there gets cheaper later on, you can request a price adjustment. (We've spotted a Ninja air fryer and several Logitech gaming accessories that have dipped in price since the sale started.) The retailer's extended holiday return and exchange period is also in effect.

Note: All newly added or updated deals have been marked with a , while deals with a 🚪 next to them are this week's limited-time doorbusters. Struck-through deals were either sold out or expired at the time of writing.

Best Buy is kind of getting clobbered in several categories of Apple deals this Black Friday — MacBooks and AirPods, for two — but it is offering one of the best discounts on a current-gen Apple Watch. The new Series 10 model has a thin, lightweight design with a large display and a built-in speaker, health/fitness features like sleep apnea detection and water depth sensing, and speedy charging. If you own a Series 8 or older, Mashable Senior Editor Stan Schroeder recommends upgrading to it for that last reason alone. (No need to do so if you already have a Series 9.)

The 42mm size sans cellular connectivity is on sale at Best Buy for $329, which is 18% off its normal list price and its lowest price to date (and also matched at Amazon). Take your pick from three colorways: jet black/black, rose gold/light blush, and silver/denim.

If you'd prefer a slightly bigger case, the 46mm Series 10 is only $30 more this Black Friday.

Black Friday is all about huge discounts on huge TVs, and this 75-inch Hisense model is a perfect case in point: At just $450, it's far cheaper than any other TV of its size right now. (Walmart had a 75-incher listed for $378 during its first Black Friday Deals event, but it's long sold out.) The fact that it has a bright and vibrant QLED display, not a standard 4K screen, sweetens the deal even further.

Kind of surprised this one wasn't chosen as a doorbuster, TBH. Let's call it a hidden gem.

This is the base configuration with a FHD+ non-touch display, and Dell has rated it at up to 26 hours per charge.

Best Buy marked it down from $1,399.99 to $999.99, which is a 29% savings and its biggest discount since launching in October. The same deal is available on Dell's website during its own Black Friday sale.

Mashable contributor Timothy Beck Werth deemed Bose's QC Ultra buds "impressive in every way": They have unrivaled ANC, they last six hours at a time (which you can bump to 24 hours with their included charging case), and they fit as nicely as their name implies. They also have an Immersive Audio feature that shifts sound around you as you move — it's not a game-changer, but it's still "really cool," said Beck Werth, who ultimately rated the QC Ultra Earbuds a 4.6/5. They're our No. 1 noise-cancelling earbuds and a Mashable Choice Award winner.

They usually retail for $299, but you can snag them on sale at Best Buy for $229 — a 23% savings and their lowest price since launching last fall. Amazon and Bose's online storefront were both matching that discount when we last checked, FYI.

Yet another Mashable Choice Award winner, GoPro's latest action camera "is way better than a $400 video camera has any right to be," wrote Beck Werth (who gave it a 4.7/5). Highlights include "insanely good motion stabilization," a slow-motion burst mode in 5.3K at 120 fps, and a better battery life than its predecessor. This accessory bundle tacks on a spare Enduro battery, a hand grip, a 64GB microSD card, two curved adhesive mounts, and a camera case.

Best Buy has it on sale for $349.99 (or $100 off) and throws in a free $25 gift card you can put toward other Black Friday deals. Considering the camera itself is on sale separately for $339.99 (typically $399.99), you're basically robbing Best Buy blind. Note that the GoPro website was offering the same deal at the time of writing, but there's no gift card freebie offered there.

The big day is finally here, the retail holiday of all holidays, Black Friday (queue the choir chorus). But unlike Black Fridays of the past, this year the discounts have been going on for weeks at some retailers. And that includes Amazon, which kicked off its sales over a week ago.

And one of the top discounts the retailer has been offering is this great deal on the Apple iPad (10th Gen), currently reduced to $259, its lowest-ever price. And Amazon has now treated us to an extra Black Friday discount by adding an additional $9.01 coupon to the listing. Just tick the orange coupon box below the price, head to the checkout and see your discount applied.

SEE ALSO: Black Friday Apple deal: Get a MacBook Pro 14-inch with M4 Pro chip for $250 off

However, there is one small catch, if you can call it that. The coupon is only available on the silver and blue options. Pink and yellow are still at the discounted price of $259, but you won't see the additional coupon offer.

But if blue or silver are your favorite colors, you can enjoy a sleek, modern design with the iPad (10th Gen). It's perfect for work or entertainment on the go and it has a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display and the A14 Bionic chip that delivers a super powerful performance for multitasking, whether you're browsing, gaming, or working.

The battery life is seriously impressive and will keep you going all day. And let's not forget the cameras, the 12MP Ultra Wide front camera is ideal for video calls — it keeps you centered during video calls, so you always look your best. The back camera is also 12MP and can shoot 4K video.

The Apple iPad (10th Gen) also supports the Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard Folio, so it's a versatile option for note-taking, sketching, and all your creative needs.

Amazon's Black Friday sale ends on Dec. 2, so don't miss out on this great deal.
