LG unveiled its new Gallery TV back in January and it's essentially a direct competitor to Samsung's The Frame. We've seen it go on sale a few times since then, but it has officially dipped down below $1,000 for the first time.

As of Aug. 10, you can upgrade to the LG 65-inch LX7B Gallery Mini LED 4K TV for just $999.99. That's 44% or $800 cheaper than its typical list price of $1,799.99 and its lowest price on record.

The Eufy Omni C20 robot vacuum and mop combo is down to $379.99 at Amazon, a 31% cut off its $549.99 list price. That's $170 in savings on a vacuum that mops, empties itself, and cleans its own mop pads.

The base station empties the dustbin on its own, and it washes and dries the mop pads with warm air after every run, so you're not touching a dirty mop pad or dumping a bin every few days. Eufy says you can go up to 60 days between manual empties, depending on your household.

It vacuums and mops in the same pass instead of two separate cleanings. The mop pads spin and press down with force to scrub off dried spills on hardwood or tile, and they lift up automatically when they hit carpet, so your rugs don't get soaked. If a spot needs extra attention, the app lets you send it back over that area for a second pass.

Suction goes up to 7,000 Pa and adjusts automatically based on how dirty the surface is. Pet owners get a useful extra here: a comb flips down mid-clean to loosen hair wrapped around the roller brush, so you're not cutting tangled fur out of it yourself.

At just over 3 inches tall, it slides under couches, beds, and low cabinets that trip up bulkier robot vacuums. It runs about two hours on a charge, and if it doesn't finish before the battery dies, it heads back to the base to recharge and picks up where it left off.

I wouldn't believe the HP OmniBook 3 16's battery life test results if I hadn't witnessed them myself. This new 16-inch laptop with Qualcomm's starter Snapdragon X chip lasted 40 hours and 14 minutes before dying, effortlessly securing its place as our new battery life champ.

It dethrones last year's OmniBook 5 14, which also had a Snapdragon processor. (Déjà vu!) And it ran for nearly twice as long as the M5 Apple MacBook Pro, our longest-lasting MacBook. If you're looking for the best battery life laptop of 2026, your hunt ends here.

As a whole, the OmniBook 3 16 isn't quite worthy of our coveted Mashable Choice Award (though it's still good enough to earn a Mashable Selects badge). Similarly priced laptops like the Acer Swift 16 AI and Asus Zenbook A16 offer way more power with nicer build quality and above-average, if not record-breaking battery life. Still, its multi-day stamina makes the new Omnibook 3 16 a compelling candidate for on-the-go workers who hate fighting over outlets at cafés and airports.

Smart shoppers will hold out until it goes on sale, which luckily happens often. Good discounts turn it into a great big-screened budget option.

What I liked: Its older entry-level processor holds its own in multi-core scenarios. It runs super cool and quiet. It has a huge, colorful display. It's pretty thin. Its keyboard is comfortable to type on. Its webcam and mic are above-average. It's frequently on sale. And that battery life, man. Ridiculous.

What I didn't like: Its design is boring. There's some give to its lid and keyboard deck. Its display is dim and glossy, so it's difficult to see its picture in bright light. There are some compatibility concerns with Snapdragon chips. Its wireless technology is outdated. For what you get, it's too expensive at its regular sticker price: This year, I've tried $1,700-ish laptops that are way faster, equipped with OLED touchscreens, and made with zero plastic.

Pricing and availability

The OmniBook 3 16 starts at $999.99 with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage on HP's website. The model I tested, with way more memory and storage, costs $1,629.99. That's not an awful deal in this day and age, but again, the competition gets much less intense when it's on sale. At the time of writing, it was 28% to 47% off, depending on the configuration, and the base model was going for just $529.99.

For $10 more, HP will let you change its color to warm gold, mica silver, or starlight blue. For $80 extra, you can add touchscreen capabilities.

Amazon and Staples both carry models that are better deals at full price versus buying direct, but they're not customizable.

HP OmniBook 3 16 performance

The OmniBook 3 16's Snapdragon X chip is an entry-level processor from 2025. Its single-core performance is, as expected, basic; it's much less snappy than the MacBook Neo's repurposed iPhone A18 Pro chip. But its multi-core performance is relatively impressive, rivaling that of last year's upper mid-range Intel Core Ultra 7 258V chip or a brand-new base Core Ultra 5 325 chip. It's well-suited for everyday productivity.

FYI: That Snapdragon chip is ARM-based, so it's not ideal for gaming or running specialty apps. Read my guide to the best Windows laptops to learn more about ARM compatibility issues.

On a more positive note, I couldn't get the OmniBook 3 16's fan to turn on during a stress test in which I opened tons of browser tabs and apps simultaneously. Most laptops get a little warm during this exercise, but it stayed completely, remarkably cool.

This is a plain-looking laptop with average build quality. Its aluminum top cover and plastic keyboard deck both have some flex in the middle. Its lid wiggles whenever you adjust its position, and its hinge is a little creaky. At least it's pretty slender for its size, if not particularly lightweight.

The OmniBook 3 16's display is a highlight. Its colors are so vivid and its contrast so good that I wondered if it had an OLED panel at first — it's actually just a regular IPS screen. Note that it looks best indoors because it's dim and glossy.

The OmniBook 3 16 has a backlit keyboard with a pleasant snappy-squishy (but not mushy) feel and a numpad. Happily, its mechanical touchpad doesn't rattle with every finger tap like the one on last year's OmniBook 5 14.

The OmniBook 3 16 is a decent everyday laptop for remote workers, commuters, and travelers who want a big, entertainment-ready screen and freakishly good battery life. It's made for all-nighters and long-haul trips. Again, try to buy it on sale, when it's at its peak value.

Foldable phones have been around for a while, but I still regularly get people asking me whether they're going to break in half.

On Sunday, YouTuber JerryRigEverything tried to do just that to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8...and couldn't.

JerryRigEverything put Samsung's foldable through his typically rough set of tests to see how it'll hold up. This included scratching the display with a utility knife and burning it with a lighter. The damage was there, of course, but it wasn't fatal.

Then, JerryRigEverything tried the ultimate test by bending the phone in the direction opposite of its folding mechanism. Again, there was significant damage to the phone's hinge, and this is something that you should never do to your phone. At the end of it, however, the phone was still alive and kicking, and there was barely any damage to its display.

Being limited to one device only, the test obviously isn't perfect, but it's a testament to how far Samsung has progressed in building its foldable phones to last. As a reminder, check out what the same YouTuber's tests did to the original Samsung Galaxy Fold a few years back.

Samsung's passport-sized phone is built for all your scrolling, binge-watching and reading. The $1,900 price is steep, but it has some strong selling points that won me over.

American filmmaker Jane Schoenbrun loves fucked-up horror stories. In 2021, they broke through with We're All Going to the World's Fair, a gnarly coming-of-age story with a creepypasta vibe. Three years later, Schoenbrun delivered the critically heralded I Saw the TV Glow, which used a fictional Buffy the Vampire Slayer-like series to explore emerging trans identity. Now, with Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, Schoenbrun offers a tale of queer joy in the mold of a slasher comedy.

Hacks' Hannah Einbinder stars as Kris, a queer indie filmmaker entrusted with resurrection the "zombie IP" that is Camp Miasma. The iconic slasher film begat eight increasingly deranged sequels and immortalized its Southern-fried Final Girl, played by Billy Presley (Gillian Anderson). To get the reboot right, Kris travels to the abandoned summer camp where the first movie was shot so she can meet Presley, who's now an eccentric recluse. Together, they talk fried chicken, desire, and Little Death (Jack Haven), the slasher who rises from the lake to wreak havoc on Camp Miasma counselors.

To dive into the depths of Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, Schoenbrun and Einbinder visited Mashable's Say More studio to speak with Entertainment Editor Kristy Puchko. Together, they explored the inspiration points for this surreal and silly slasher, celebrated the return of horny movies, and (naturally!) compared gummies and talked Counting Crows.

Exoskeletons are having a moment, and Ascentiz just gave everyday walkers, hikers, and cyclists a reason to pay attention. The company, which created the world's first modular exoskeleton, has launched its H Series, now available for purchase: the H Pro and the H Ultra.

Both are built around hip-level assistance that syncs with your natural gait rather than overriding it, stepping in to help during key phases of a stride, like lifting your leg or pushing off the ground. The idea is to cut down on effort, not replace how you move.

The H Pro is the lighter, more everyday option, built for walking, fitness, and lighter outdoor activity, with up to 25 kilometers of assisted range. Ascentiz says it delivers up to 1,000W of peak boost, making strides feel about 40% lighter, and it weighs just 5.5 pounds.

The H Ultra is the heavier-duty version, with a carbon-fiber and titanium-alloy frame, a dual-battery setup that extends range to 50 kilometers, and higher power output for longer trips. Both are IP54-rated for weather resistance and designed to run quietly.

We’ve seen plenty of Scene Boxes add flair to Magic: The Gathering expansions like Marvel Super Heroes for a fair price, and now, the bad guy-focused collection is under $30 on Amazon for the first time. 

As of Aug. 10, Amazon has cut the price of the Magic: The Gathering Marvel Super Heroes Villains Unleashed Scene Box to $29.98. Knocking $12.01 off the $41.99 list price, this is a 29% discount on a listing sold by third-party seller Collectors Expedition but shipped from Amazon directly — with free delivery for Aug. 15 at the time of writing, or sooner for Prime members. 

This is the lowest price we’ve ever seen for the Villains Unleashed Box at the retailer (confirmed by price tracker camelcamelcamel), making it very hard not to want to jump on it if you’re a keen Magic player who’s eager to see more of the superhero-themed expansion.

On the other hand, TCGplayer is still cheaper if getting the lowest possible price matters most. Complete, unopened boxes are listed at $24, including shipping, while the trading card platform’s current market price for unopened boxes is $18.96. Just watch out for the cheaper-looking listings on the page, as some are only for the art cards or other parts of the box rather than the fully sealed version.

The gentlest characters in the world of Westeros often endure the most suffering.

The Seven Kingdoms has proven itself a harsh place even for royalty, further shown by the fate of House of the Dragon's Princess Helaena (Phia Saban), who dies by suicide in the Season 3 finale after leaping from a high window of the Red Keep.

Helaena isn't the first innocent to die in George R.R. Martin's fantasy world, and she sadly won't be the last. However, as some fans online have pointed out, there's another key Game of Thrones character who dies in pretty much exactly the same way as the former queen: Tommen Baratheon (Dean-Charles Chapman).

"Is that the same window tommen jumped from?" asked one Reddit user, and judging by the following image — in which the view from the Red Keep looks exactly the same, out toward the Grand Sept on Visenya’s Hill — it seems they may be right.

Remember Tommen? The Baratheon king took over after the death of his horrible older brother Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) in Game of Thrones, which takes place around 200 years after the events of House of the Dragon. He too dies by suicide, leaping from a window in the Red Keep after learning of the death of his wife Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer) — which happened because of the destruction of the Great Sept of Baelor, another sept later built on the same site.

It's a strange coincidence that can't have been accidental — the window design even resembles those of the room Helaena and her mother Alicent (Olivia Cooke) have been kept captive in. It's also fitting for Helaena's character, given that she's able to see into the future through dreams. But what exactly does that tapestry mean?

Burning bridges with the most connected person in King's Landing could have consequences for Queen Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy).

In the House of the Dragon Season 3 finale, the Westeros monarch makes a sudden decision to dismiss her Mistress of Whispers, Mysaria (Sonoya Mizuno). Even Rhaenyra's lady-in-waiting, Elinda (Jordon Stevens), seems shocked to the deliver the news, as guards pack up Mysaria's things.

But why does Rhaenyra make such an abrupt move to spurn her lover and confidante, an OG of her Small Council, and the most informed person in the capital?

First things first: The timing isn't great, as the dismissal happens right after Rhaenyra and Mysaria sleep together in the Red Keep in Season 3, episode 7. Without getting into the King's Landing HR weeds (Westeros' rulers would all be jailed if we went down this road), this is a clear abuse of power on Rhaenyra's part. But importantly, Mysaria seems genuinely hurt by the queen's action.

While Mysaria was using diabolical power moves like empathy and understanding (so rude!) to get in Rhaenyra's good books, she found deep respect for her queen. Mysaria saved Rhaenyra's life by shattering the Fake Twin Gambit. With Daemon's (Matt Smith) absence in Harrenhal in Season 2, Mysaria and Rhaenyra grew close, with the former eventually championing Rhaenyra and pledging her service, saying, "You have seen me as worthy, as an equal, even." Their increasingly romantic bond in Season 3, episode 7, saw Rhaenyra asking Mysaria the same question of her reign: "Do you think I am worthy?"

Mysaria and Daemon each see different reigns for Rhaenyra — one where peace or war is power, respectively. The queen has struggled throughout the series to decide which of these monarchs she should be, longing to match her father's peaceful rule but facing divided public opinion for it.

In the season finale, however, Rhaenyra chooses. Her furious reaction to Aegon and Sunfyre's "resurrection" is swift, as she tasks Daemon with launching the attack on Tumbleton. The prince consort has been waiting for this signal, and the pair seem more connected than ever. It seems clear: Rhaenyra has chosen Daemon, the path of war.

Notably, Alicent (Olivia Cooke) warned Mysaria that this would happen. In Season 3, episode 5, Mysaria is weighing up whether to tell Rhaenyra that Helaena (Phia Saban) is pregnant with Aegon's heir, when Alicent makes a plea.

"I simply urge you to think of yourself," she says. "There is good in Rhaenyra, but the crown is a weight that crushes. Rhaenyra will do, in the end, what she has to do, and what she has to do will be dire. There is only one who can walk that path with her, and she chose him long ago."

Mysaria has spent House of the Dragon working her way to a position of self-made power, with grit, smarts, and unfathomable strength. We find out in Season 2 she was sexually abused by her own father (resulting in pregnancy and a hysterectomy), and she was an enslaved person in Essos before arriving in Westeros (and now she's being shipped back to Essos, to the city of Pentos).

In King's Landing, she built her network in Flea Bottom through sex work and brothel management, and she became unrivalled as an information broker, informing on the royals as the White Worm. She was Daemon's paramour in Season 1, though he now speaks to her with contempt, having interrogated Mysaria as a prisoner on Dragonstone when she tried to flee King's Landing. And now, he despises her strong connection with his niece-wife-queen.

Despite all that, Mysaria's finally established her place on the Small Council, advising the queen on her reign and catching "don't forget who you are" strays from her Flea Bottom friends like brothel madam Sylvi (Michelle Bonnard). Give her a break!

Importantly, Mysaria knows every last secret of Rhaenyra's (and her court), and the queen thinks kicking her to the curb is a smart idea? Who reported a young Rhaenyra getting frisky in Flea Bottom with her future uncle-husband Daemon in Season 1, leading to Daemon's exile by his brother Viserys (Paddy Considine)? Who snuck Rhaenyra into King's Landing to see Alicent, which changed the whole game? Who's got a Hightower IOU? Be wise, Rhaenyra!

For such a sombre finale, House of the Dragon's last episode of Season 3 cracked me up.

Though there were more than a few tragic deaths, sad backstories, brutal battles, and hearts broken, the finale was filled with some exceptional one-liners. Some were battle tactics. Others saw characters mad at their dads.

Here's the funniest lines from the House of the Dragon Season 3 finale, however inappropriate that may be. Spoilers ahead.

Pour one out for Ser Roderick Dustin (Tommy Flanagan), the Northerner who just couldn't wait to die for Queen Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) or at all. Plotting out their moves at the Battle of Tumbleton, Prince Daemon (Matt Smith) makes sure Ser Roderick and his men know what the plan is. "You are not to die until you open the gate," says Daemon. The man of the North responds. Its giving Legolas.

"F***ing Viserys!"

Dads, man. When Rhaenyra finds out that Aegon II (Tom Glynn-Carney) and his dragon Sunfyre are still alive, she's beside herself. But as she's articulated time and time again over the series, King Viserys' (Paddy Considine) heir has fought through fire and blood for the Iron Throne. And all because her father didn't write her inheritance the hell down. Get it all out, Rhaenyra.

"I'm alive, imbecile!"

Like a petulant child with sing-song delivery, Aegon II makes sure his brother Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) feels every part the younger sibling while confronting him at Harrenhal. To add to Aegon's fury, Aemond begs forgiveness on his knees for trying to kill him. "No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!" cries Aegon. "I was supposed to enjoy this! What's wrong with you? Fight me!"

If he had survived the Battle of Tumbleton, Lord Ormund Hightower (James Norton) would probably refresh his staff, from his eye-roll reaction to his squire. "My lord, the battle has begun!" Ormund's Captain Obvious attendant declares, as the chaos of the battle rolls around them.

"What do you mean, you cannot find him? He has a very large dragon."

Ulf the White (Tom Bennett) and his dragon Silverwing are nowhere to be found during the beginning of the Battle of Tumbleton, much to the dismay of his two masters, Ormund and Daemon. Like Ormund, Daemon's frustration with stating the obvious to his subjects is both terrifying and hilarious.
